Yesterday’s clinic was a huge success, and we want to extend our sincere thanks to Military Spouses’ Association of 29 Palms and Animal Action League for making it possible.

Thanks to the grant awarded to us by Military Spouses’ Association of Twentynine Palms, 37 animals belonging to military-affiliated families received spay and neuter services at no cost to them. This support helps remove barriers to essential veterinary care while strengthening our community.

To our service members, veterans, military spouses, and reservists, thank you for your service and sacrifice. It was our privilege to give back to those who give so much.

Thank you again to our partners for helping us keep pets healthy, families supported, and more animals out of shelters!

‼️Spay and Neuter Clinic for Military Families Standby Information‼️

Didn’t get an appointment for our June 13th clinic? You may still have a chance by waiting standby the day of.

Here’s how standby works:

🐾 Arrive at the clinic location by 8:00 AM with your pet: Animal Action League Joshua Tree Main Office: 62762 29 Palms Highway
🐾 Your pet must have no food or water after midnight the night before surgery.
🐾 Do not leave the premises. You will know by approximately 9:15 AM whether we are able to accommodate your pet that day.
🐾 Please note that we cannot control how many people arrive for standby. In the past, lines have started forming as early as 7:00 AM.

⚠️ Standby is NOT a guaranteed appointment. Pets are accepted only if openings become available.

This clinic is sponsored by a grant we received from Military Spouses’ Association of 29 Palms and identification is required at check in for proof of eligibility.

As a Unit Rep, you will:
*Serve as a liaison between the MSA and your spouse's unit
*Help share information and opportunities with unit spouses
*Assist in planning and coordinating MSA events and activities
*Hold a voting position on the General Board and help shape the future of our organization

Requirements:
*Must be a current MSA member
*Be willing to communicate regularly with your unit's spouses
*Have a passion for supporting and strengthening our community

The Military Spouses Association of 29 Palms is excited to begin our 2026-2027 year, and we're looking for community-minded businesses and sponsors who want to make a meaningful impact.

As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax-deductible and directly support military families and our local Southern California community.

Every dollar we raise is invested back into the community through scholarships (awarded to dependents of Active Duty, Reserve, Retired, and Gold Star military families), and community grants (awarded to local organizations that strengthen connection, support, and growth throughout the Morongo Basin and surrounding communities).
This past year, the MSA issued out $54,000 in grants and scholarships, and this year, we're putting in the work to go even bigger!

‼️ATTENTION ARTISTS‼️

Current and former military service members and their families are invited to submit artwork for “Bloom Where You’re Planted,” a special exhibition opening June 19 at Hi-Desert Artists Gallery in Yucca Valley. The exhibition explores themes of home, reinvention, resilience, and belonging through the experiences of military-connected communities.
Open exclusively to active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their spouses or children, the show encourages artists to reflect on questions many military families understand deeply: What does “home” mean when you move frequently? What roots do we create in temporary places? How do we build chosen community? Artwork in all visual media will be considered, including painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, and digital art.
Submissions are open through June 8, with notification by June 9. Artwork intake dates are June 15 from 2–5 p.m. and June 16 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. The exhibition runs June 19 through July 14, with an opening reception June 20 and closing reception July 12.

As we wrap up the 2025–2026 fiscal year for MSA at the end of the month, all members will begin being removed from sub-club groups as we prepare for a fresh start in September.
