🎉🌟 ALL MACON COUNTY YOUTH DAY! 🌟🎉
Learning • Leadership • Local Government • 4-H! 🍀

What an exciting day of learning and discovery for Macon County youth! 💚

During All Macon County Youth Day, young people had the opportunity to learn how the Macon County Extension Office, Macon County Commission, and other local government agencies work together to provide programs, resources, and services that strengthen our communities and serve the citizens of Macon County. 🏛️🤝

But the learning didn’t stop there! 🦌🐾🦝 Youth also participated in the popular 4-H Skins-N-Skulls activity, where they got an up-close look at animal skins and skulls while learning about local wildlife, animal identification, habitats, and the important role wildlife plays in our environment.

🍀 Government in action. 4-H in action. Youth learning in action!

Experiences like All Macon County Youth Day help our young people better understand their community while encouraging them to become informed, engaged, and responsible future leaders.

A special thank you to the Macon County Commission and all of our community and government partners who continue working with Extension to create meaningful educational opportunities for Macon County youth! 💚👏🏾

🎣🌲 HOOKED ON FUN IN MACON COUNTY! 🌲🎣

What an AMAZING day at the Annual Macon County Fishing Derby held today at the beautiful Tuskegee National Forest! 🐟☀️

Youth, families, and community members came together for a day filled with fishing, fellowship, food, prizes, laughter, and outdoor fun! 🎣❤️ It was exciting to see our young anglers casting their lines, reeling in their catches, and making memories in the great outdoors!

🏆🐟 THE BIG CATCH!
Special awards were presented to the boy and girl with the biggest catch of the day! But at this Fishing Derby, EVERY child was a winner! 🌟

🎁🎟️ Through our raffle, every participating child received a gift, with prizes including fishing rods, bait, tackle boxes, fishing gear, and more! 🎣🎁 Our goal was to make sure every young person left with something special—and hopefully a greater love for fishing and the outdoors!

👏🏾 A HUGE SPECIAL THANK YOU to everyone who made today possible:

Events like this are about so much more than catching fish. They’re about getting kids outdoors, bringing families together, building community, and creating memories that can last a lifetime! 💚🌲🎣

🎉☀️ Day 4: That’s a Wrap! | Macon County 4-H Sizzling Summer Day Camp ☀️🎉

What an incredible way to close out our Macon County 4-H Sizzling Summer Day Camp! 💚🍀 We wrapped up an unforgettable week full of learning, laughter, and hands-on fun!

🍓🥄 Our campers kicked off the day “Jamming with Janet Johnson,” where they learned all about the art and science of making delicious homemade jam! Youth discovered the ingredients that make jam taste so good, learned why it can be part of a healthy diet, and even got to see the jam-making process up close. It was a sweet educational experience! 😋🍇

🚴🥤 The excitement continued with the Alabama A&M University Nutrition and STEM Unit! Campers combined nutrition, fitness, and technology through interactive activities that kept everyone moving and thinking.

Highlights included:
🚴‍♀️ Pedaling a smoothie bike to power a blender and create tasty, healthy smoothies!
💪 Participating in exciting physical fitness games and challenges!
🤖 Exploring STEM through engaging coding activities and interactive educational games!
🧠 Learning that healthy living and science can be fun together!

Our campers discovered that eating healthy, staying active, and exploring STEM careers can be exciting adventures when learning is hands-on! 🌟

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Janet Johnson and the Alabama A&M University Nutrition & STEM Unit for providing such an engaging and memorable experience for our youth! 💚

🤖🚀 Day 3 Highlights: Macon County 4-H Sizzling Summer Day Camp! 🚀🤖

What an exciting and action-packed day at the Macon County 4-H Sizzling Summer Day Camp! Our campers put their creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking skills to the test as they competed in teams during engaging STEM engineering challenges focused on coding robots and designing catapults!

Youth worked together to program robots to complete exciting coding challenges while learning the fundamentals of computational thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. They also became young engineers by designing and testing catapults, exploring concepts of force, motion, accuracy, and innovation through friendly competition.

These hands-on activities encouraged campers to think critically, communicate effectively, and discover that learning STEM can be both educational and fun!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today’s activities such a memorable experience for our youth. We are proud of each participant for their enthusiasm, collaboration, and willingness to take on new challenges.
