(Health, Outreach, Promotion & Education), a COVID- 19 health initiative of the Black Belt Community Foundation, has planned an outstanding one-day health equity conference for Black Belt residents and health stakeholders. The theme of the conference is: “Bridging the Gap Between Health & Community.”



This is an opportunity for you to unite with individuals and organizations providing information and resources that can help the residents of the Alabama Black Belt achieve the access to medical care, resources, and programs our communities need.



The topics for this conference are: “Health Equity;” “Mental Health/Wellness;” “Community Health Workers: An Asset to Your Community;” and, “The Pros and Cons of Telehealth.”

CHOCTAW, BULLOCK, WILCOX, DALLAS Counties, if you are a first-time applicant organization to the BBCF Arts & Community Grants Cycle, be sure to attend at least one in-person grant seekers workshops as it is mandatory for your application to qualify, These are the next four workshop sessions on deck this week. With the new year upon us, BBCF is so very proud to be able to share about important upcoming events! We are also very proud to co-sponsor this upcoming play at the Tuskegee Repertory Theatre, Inc.! Shows upcoming, Jan 12 -14!

Remembering Sammy’ tells the true story of the life and work of Sammy Younge, Jr., voting rights advocate, and the first college student killed in the Civil Rights movement. He was shot to death in downtown Tuskegee, Al. The play was created using interviews conducted by the playwright, Tuskegee Repertory Theatre, Director Dyann Robinson, of 5 of his co-activist friends after his death.
