This is a page for the Douglas County Summer Food Service Program/ Douglas County Summer Fun and Meals. This non-profit program is sponsored by the Douglas County Health Department at 1250 E US 36, Tuscola, Illinois 61953. We first sponsored this program in 2016 and served 4000 meals and in 2017 we expanded our services to Douglas County children served over 9000 meals with the assistance of Gould

Bus Service, Yoder's Kitchen, Tuscola United Methodist Church, Arcola School District, Tuscola Kiwanis, Tuscola Rotary, Cargill of Tuscola, Paul's Machine & Welding, Arcola Township, Tuscola & Arcola Rotary, Tuscola IGA, Daylight Doughnuts, Arcola Herald & Review, Tuscola Journal, TriCounty Journal and many more. With the help of many volunteers and area communities, we served more than 50,000 summer meals in June, July, and August of 2020. Without the support of our community, we couldn't do all we do. We look forward to safely returning to in-person Summer Meals Programs in 2022 but in 2021 we will only be safely serving meals at 11 different sites in Douglas County and Edgar County. Watch for information on this page and at area schools regarding Summer Meals beginning June 7th 2021!
