Friends and Participants of Relay For Life of Douglas County:
The health and safety of our Relay participants has always been our top priority. While we had been making plans for summer 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recommendations of medical experts, we have decided to cancel our in-person event for this year.
The Relay For Life movement has helped lead the fight against cancer for more than 30 years. Since 2001, Relay For Life of Douglas County has raised more than $820,000 for the American Cancer Society. COVID-19 is putting a lot at risk right now, including the fight against cancer. The way we fuel our fight has changed drastically. The risks of that are frightening โ for cancer patients, for researchers and for the health care community.
The fight against cancer is being challenged. But it is a fight that canโt be cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled. The needs of people facing cancer continue and so will the work of the American Cancer Society. Donate today to help us continue critical research and patient support: www.relayforlife.org/douglasil
Stay tuned to our page for fundraiser announcements, possible 2020 events, and details on the 2021 season.
Sincerely,
