The Tuscaloosa County Deputy Sheriffs' Association was honored to be able to support and attend an unforgettable evening at the Leadership Tuscaloosa Class of 2026 Drawdown Dinner benefiting Project Warrior!
Project Warrior is a collaborative initiative involving the City of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, The University of Alabama, Visit Tuscaloosa, and the Alabama Department of Tourism. This project will create a permanent educational and cultural landmark along the riverfront in downtown Tuscaloosa, featuring a bronze statue of Chief Tuskaloosa by world renowned sculptor Caleb O’Connor, along with an educational plaza and interpretive storyboards that will help tell his story for generations to come.
We were especially honored to have Association Member, Chief Deputy Loyd Baker as a noted guest at both our Association’s table and the event. Chief Baker played the key role years ago in redesigning the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Challenge Coin, helping bring forward a historically accurate depiction of Chief Tuskaloosa. It was also a pleasure to see Sharron Rudowski, the artist who drew Chief Tuskaloosa, in attendance.
We’re proud to support initiatives like Project Warrior and serve the Tuscaloosa Community in a variety of meaningful ways
