We are deeply grateful for our partnership with the Tuscaloosa chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness and for Bess and Melanie joining us at Tapestry of Faith UCC on Sunday. They reminded us that mental health is health and that no one should have to struggle alone or in silence.

Tapestry of Faith UCC is seeking to be a UCC WISE congregation committed to creating a faith community where conversations about mental health are met with compassion, support, and grace rather than stigma or shame.

At Tapestry of Faith, we believe every person is created in the image of God. Today, on the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia & Transphobia, we pause to affirm the sacred worth and belovedness of LGBTQ+ siblings everywhere.

We grieve the harm caused by hatred, exclusion, and violence, especially when it has come from the church, and we commit ourselves to the work of justice, compassion, repentance, and radical welcome. 🌈

It’s a great day to join us at Tapestry of Faith. We will gather at 4 PM for a special Service of Wholeness and Healing as we reflect on James 5 and Psalm 30 through the theme: “The Healing Work of Community.”

Together, we will pray, share in anointing with oil, and remember that healing has always been communal work.
