Is your summer garden overflowing with tomatoes, squash, or peppers? Don't let that beautiful fresh produce go to waste! Fresh fruits and vegetables are some of our most requested items, but they can be the hardest to keep in stock.

Share the bounty with your neighbors! Drop off your extra garden harvest at our warehouse and help us put fresh, healthy food on the tables of West Alabama families.

As kids head back to school across West Alabama, we need to make sure they have the fuel they need to learn and grow. But for many students, the weekends mean missing out on reliable meals. Our Backpack Meals program bridges that gap, providing kid-friendly, nutritious food to take home on Friday afternoons.

Help us ensure no child in our community goes hungry this school year. For $140, you can help provide one child a meal every weekend for the entire school year! Click the link below to donate today!

Today is National Nonprofit Day, and we want to take a moment to celebrate YOU. To the volunteers who pack boxes, the local businesses who donate surplus food, and the community members who give what they can - you are the heartbeat of the West Alabama Food Bank. Together, we are bridging the gap between surplus and need, ensuring our neighbors have access to the meals they deserve.

Tag a volunteer or local business below who has supported our mission so we can say a massive thank you!

School is officially back in session! ๐ŸŽ’ While families are checking off school supply lists, weโ€™re focused on another essential: making sure no child goes hungry after the final bell rings.

Every single week, the West Alabama Food Bank packs over 2,000 meals for children across our community so they have food to take home for the weekend. But as the school year ramps up, so does the need.

Your monetary donation helps us purchase nutritious food in bulk, stretching every dollar further to feed more kids. Letโ€™s make sure their backpacks are full of the fuel they need to learn, play, and grow.

Help us fight child hunger right here at home. ๐Ÿ’›

Happy National Parents Day to all the moms, dads, and caregivers doing their absolute best. ๐Ÿ’™

Parenting is hard work, but it becomes incredibly stressful when faced with impossible choices.

Right now, parents experiencing food insecurity in West Alabama are having to choose between paying for utilities, buying medicine, or putting groceries on the table.

No parent should have to make that choice.

Thank you to everyone who donates to help ease this burden for local families.

July is National Picnic Month! ๐Ÿงบ

As you pack your baskets for a day at the park, remember that many of our neighbors lack access to simple, shelf-stable foods.

We are currently low on easy-to-pack items that are perfect for summer outings and kids at home.

Our most-needed picnic items include:
๐Ÿฅœ Granola bars
๐ŸŽ Fruit cups
๐Ÿฅจ Pretzels and crackers
๐Ÿงƒ 100% juice boxes

Thank you for keeping our community in mind!

Summer should be a time of fun and relaxation for kids, not a time of hunger.

With school meals paused, the need for food assistance grows significantly during these months. We are working hard to fill that gap, but we can't do it without your generosity.

Right now, our shelves are running low on kid-friendly staples, and we are in urgent need of donations to fill the gap. ๐Ÿšจ

You can make a huge impact by organizing a summer food drive with your VBS church group, summer camp, or neighborhood!

Here is exactly what we need most right now:
๐Ÿฅœ Peanut butter & jelly
๐Ÿฅฃ Cereal & oatmeal
๐Ÿง€ Mac & cheese
๐Ÿ Pasta & rice

Gather your group, collect these essentials, and help us ensure no child goes to bed hungry this summer. ๐Ÿ’›
