Last night, we completed the semi-finals and the final all in the same day. Congratulations to all of the teams as they gave all they could to win. Skyland defeated Valley View 42-35 in a game that was close until the last few minutes.
Tensions ran high in some of the games. There were technical fouls, pushing, running into each other. Young men want to win. I see it every year. But, it comes down to representing Christ, even in the tough moments. How do you treat your brother even in the heat of the competition?
These young men could be anywhere on a Friday or Saturday night. But they chose to participate at a place where we said a prayer before each game, a place where character and belief means more than wins.
