The Lions and Lioness Clubs of District 27-E1 recently sponsored a Youth Service Project Award program to recognize and encourage service learning in our Northwest Wisconsin area. The Turtle Lake Lioness Club selected the Turtle Lake High School Lakeland Honor Society as a nominee for the award for their sponsorship of the Red Cross Blood Drive held on January 14, 2026. Their project was selected as the first place award at the District Convention and received a check for $200 from the District and the Lioness Club matched that amount. Pictured are back row Lioness members Diane Bussewitz and Cindy King and front row Lakeland Honor Society members Olivia Korish, Katelyn Pabst, Ella Koenig and Lexi Tarman.

The 61st annual Turtle Lake Community Scholarship Fund Drive sponsored by the Turtle Lake Lioness Club is underway.

The community scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors of Turtle Lake High School who are continuing their education at a university or technical college. With the increased cost of tuition and living expenses, these students will need scholarships to assist them in meeting their financial obligations. In 2025, scholarships in the amount of $1,000 were awarded to 11 graduates through the Turtle Lake Community Scholarship Fund.

The Turtle Lake Lioness Club is confident that you will once again make a generous contribution to this very worthwhile cause to help our future citizens become educated leaders of our community. Contributions will be published in the Turtle Lake Times each week. Please indicate if you would like your donation listed as a memorial.

Please make checks payable to Turtle Lake Community Scholarship Fund and return to 92 157th Avenue,Turtle Lake WI 54889.

The Turtle Lake Lioness Club thanks you for your ongoing support of this scholarship fund. You continue to make a difference in the lives of our students and future leaders!

Giving back to our community in so many ways is something I’m incredibly grateful to be part of. From volunteering time to supporting youth programs, every small effort helps make our community stronger. When people come together with a shared purpose, amazing things happen.

There is something incredibly special about giving back to the community that gives so much to us.

Our Kinship Program holds a special place in our hearts. It’s more than just support — it’s mentorship, connection, stability, and showing up for kids who need consistent adults in their corner. It’s building confidence, creating safe spaces, and reminding every child that they are seen, valued, and capable of amazing things.

When we pour into Kinship, we’re investing in:
🤝 Stronger families
💛 Supported caregivers
🌱 Empowered youth
🏡 A healthier, more connected community

Whether it’s volunteering time, donating resources, mentoring, or simply spreading awareness — every act of kindness matters.

We don’t just live here.
We build here.
We lift here.
We grow here.

And together, we make sure no child feels alone.

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, this is your sign. Our community is stronger when we show up for each other. 💫

The Lioness is a proud supporter! And you could be too!

The Turtle Lake School District is proud to introduce Turbo the Turtle, our new school mascot and a bold new symbol of Laker pride! 💪 🐢 👏

Turbo represents the heart of our school community, embodying energy, perseverance, and a strong sense of belonging for students of all ages. You’ll see Turbo at school events, athletic contests, assemblies, welcoming students off the buses, visiting classrooms, and joining in community activities! More than just a mascot, Turbo brings us together. Creating shared experiences, lasting memories, and stronger school spirit for students, families, staff, alumni, and community members alike. We’re excited for the positive energy and pride Turbo will bring as he cheers on our Lakers and celebrates their successes! 🎉

⭐️ Want to help bring Turbo to life? Community members, alumni, and local businesses are invited to support this effort through a donation. Every contribution makes a difference!
⭐️ For more information on how to donate or get involved, please contact the school office. Let’s rally together and make Turbo the Turtle a lasting symbol of pride, spirit, and unity for Turtle Lake! 💛🐢❤️

The Lioness Club had a wonderful meeting at North House Healing & Tea, hosted by our newest member, Georgeina O’Connell! 🫖💛

We were honored to welcome District Governor Ed, who shared inspiring updates on Lions programs and his goals for the year. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch together—always a bonus!

A special highlight of the day: two new members were officially installed!
