Franklin County Spring 5K

Hello all. A long overdue post from us at the Franklin County Spring 5k. We just wanted to reach out to say that 2020 was our last year in operation. Due to many factors, we have decided to close the books on the event.

Many thanks are in order to all of the generous donors, registered participants, support from beneficiaries, and the wonderful community! This small group of volunteer committee members, with help from our partner Franklin County Spring Parade and others, this community fundraiser was a blast to put on! We will miss it!

It all began in 2014, after realizing the parade route was exactly the distance of a 5k, the idea was a no-brainer! The two events teamed up, and so many came out to celebrate both events and welcome spring. For 7 years the fun was carried out!

The 5k was able to support the following beneficiaries:

2014 | Unity Skatepark Campaign - $1,700
2015 | Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter - $3,000
2016 | Shea Theater Arts Center - $2,000
2017 | Stone Soup Cafe - $2,300
2018 | Montague Parks & Recreation - $2,800
2019 | Just Roots - $2,500
2020 | Franklin County 4-H - $1,750

That's over $16,000 in fundraising from our generous community. Thank you all for the great years! Stay healthy and active!

Our friends at Ja'Duke Center For The Performing Arts have been so supportive over the years by helping to sponsor our 5ks.

With great pleasure we are happy to share that with thanks to all of the gracious sponsors, donors, and registered runners, we were able to present a check to Franklin County 4-H for $1750!!

As we couldn't present the check in person this year, Tom from 4-H willingly helped us by sharing a photo with the check as he accepted it on behalf of 4-H!

This year's race was surely unconventional, but successful!! HUGE THANKS to everyone who rode along with us through all the changes! We were so happy to not have to cancel!

Hopefully next year brings us all back together, for now we will not be making any announcements on next year's race. When we have more information on the outlook, we will be sure to share the information!
