Meet Our 2026 Camp Staff 🏀

Many of our staff started here as campers themselves.
Now they’re back to help create the same experience for the next generation.

Our staff brings a passion for being active while living with T1D, joyful camp traditions, and a unique understanding of what it means to support each other both on and off the court.

Quin Lucas : Young, Driven, Giving Back 🏀💯

Quincy Lucas has made it his mission to give back to the T1D community! Quin attended CDBC in 2023 and 2024, making the trek to Oregon all the way from Virginia. For the past five years, Quin has led a Superbowl Squares fundraiser for a chosen T1D nonprofit. For the past two years, Quin has selected the Chris Dudley Foundation.

”It’s about advocating for T1D awareness and giving back. Making the Super Bowl Squares fundraiser a donation to CDF the past two years was a way to continue to support CDF, and hopefully help another camper attend and experience this amazing camp. Quin genuinely loves camp and hopes to return again someday soon! He also wants to bring awareness to what CDF is and how it supports the T1D community.” - Quin’s mom, Addie

Quin is a Junior in high school and a baseball player who aspires to play at the college level. In addition to fundraising for organizations he is passionate about, he also enjoys talking to newly diagnosed T1Ds, sharing tips, tricks, and resources. Quin celebrated his 5th “diaversary” on April 21st. “We choose to celebrate that day in recognition of the healthy life he has been supported in having, thanks to science, technology, non-profit organizations such as Breakthrough T1D and CDF, friends and family. We have so much gratitude that his diagnosis was caught. We celebrate life!”, said Quin’s mom.

We are grateful to have thoughtful, hard-working young people like Quin in our camp community!

CDBC Camper, Erin, was one of ‘s nominees last month! Nominated amongst six other student-athletes, Erin was recognized for “leading with character, positivity, and excellence both on and off the field” as a three-sport athlete. Congrats, Erin! We are proud of you!
