Today, Tupper Lake Rescue took delivery of our new 2026 PL Custom ambulance! This new ambulance will replace our current Unit 569, a 2016 ambulance that has proudly served our communities for years and has accumulated over 170,000 miles responding to calls and providing care when our neighbors needed us most.

Over the next week or so, our members will spend time becoming familiar with the new ambulance, its equipment, and all of its capabilities. Once training and familiarization are complete, the new ambulance will officially be placed into service.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us and contributed to making this new ambulance possible. Your generosity and continued support mean more to us than we can put into words.

A few special thank-yous are in order:

Our Treasurer, Kelly Fluery, for spearheading the capital campaign project and helping make this purchase a reality.

Our entire Board of Directors, for their leadership, support, and commitment to the future of our organization.

Our former Chief of Maintenance, Mark Picerno, who played an important role in helping design our new ambulance and making sure it would meet the needs of our members and our communities.

And, of course, all of our members, past and present, whose dedication, time, and commitment make everything we do possible.

Tupper Lake Rescue has been proud to serve Tupper Lake, Piercefield, Santa Clara, and Harrietstown. This new ambulance will allow us to continue that mission and provide our communities with the equipment and resources our members need to deliver the highest level of care possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. This ambulance belongs to our entire community, and we are incredibly proud to put it to work serving you.

Today we pause and remember the events of 25 years ago. No words can express the gratitude of those first responders that day and the many weeks after and the grief for all those who were lost. Never Forget 9/11

Many don’t realize that this was one of the largest mutual aid calls in history. Pictured are Tupper Lake and Saranac Lake Rescue’s ambulance at ground zero and staging areas in the city. Firefighters and EMTs and paramedics came from across the whole country to assist for many many weeks following that day.

Please remember to keep an eye out for school buses and kiddos during the mornings and afternoon bus runs and always stop for a school bus with its lights flashing and stop sign out.

🚑 Tupper Lake EMS – Volunteers Welcome! 🚁

Tupper Lake EMS proudly serves the Village and Town of Tupper Lake, Santa Clara, Harrietstown, and Piercefield—responding to over 1,000 calls a year, from MVAs and water rescues to structure fires and medical emergencies.

We’re a dedicated team of paid and volunteer EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics, and we’re looking for drivers and support volunteers to join us.

✅ Minimum requirement:
• One 12-hour shift per month
• Valid NYS Driver’s License

🎓 We provide:
• CPR & First Aid
• Monthly trainings
• Driver training
• Ride-along opportunities to learn patient care and EMS operations
