THE ISSUE:
Currently there is not a single indoor site in the City of Tupelo to support Basketball programs of the Tupelo Parks and Recreation Department. The Milam School, The Tupelo Middle Schools and the Police Athletic League gymnasium are being used to support the Parks and Recreation basketball programs. Considering that the Tupelo Parks and Recreation Department operates well-furnished and
well maintained single site baseball,softball,soccer and swimming facilities, for city wide enthusiast of these various sports, then a single site Parks and Recreation multi court indoor basketball facility is well within reason to support the greater Tupelo basketball community. PURPOSE:
To petition the Tupelo City Counsel to build a multi-court indoor basketball facility for the Tupelo Parks and Recreations Department basketball program and the greater Tupelo basketball enthusiast community.
