Tupelo Lions Club had the opportunity to award 4 members of the Lions All Sate Band with scholarships of $500 each! Below are pics of the recipients and President Zane Floyd presenting the checks. These young adults work so hard and we are happy to assist some of them in their journey in representing Mississippi at the Lions State Convention this year.

The eye glasses collection has been very successful!

Cheri Harbour, an occupational therapist specializing in low vision rehabilitation at North Mississippi Retina Center, recently sent about 3,000 pairs of donated glasses to be refurbished for those who need them.

North Mississippi Health Services and the Lions Club of Tupelo teamed up to collect eyewear for the needy in February, National Low Vision Awareness Month. The groups collected donations of used eyeglasses, sunglasses and reading glasses, as well as video magnifiers and large lighted magnifiers.

The Lions Club will distribute the eyewear in the United States and third world countries worldwide. For more information about low vision rehabilitation services, call (662) 377-6621 or email [email protected].
