Stone Stories Ministries

Stone Stories Ministries Our mission is to offer hope, support, and the healing love of Jesus Christ to women through intentional relationships.

Our primary population are women affected by incarceration, addiction, and sexual explotation. I felt like our pastor was talking directly to me one Sunday morning as he described the “Super Christian,” the person who looks and acts like they have it all together. My husband is an elder in the church and serves in many leadership positions. We have four beautiful adopted children and we are involv

ed in most every activity offered to our congregation. However, somehow in the process of trying to uphold the “perfect Christian” image, I lost myself. My comfortable broken self… the part of me that I was ashamed of and that I tried to hide from people was actually the part of me that God wanted to use. Because we are all less than perfect in one way or another. As I have opened up my life and allowed God to use the ugly parts of my story, He has drawn more people to Himself. It excites me to know that God chooses to show His greatness by working through a nobody like me.

We are so happy to be in downtown Tupelo with Fresh Farm Tupelo today!

Declare these over your home this week because our homes become what we speak over them:

Peace will rule here. Not chaos, not busyness, not overwhelm. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts" (Colossians 3:15)

Joy will bubble up here. Even in the hard, sanctifying moments. “The joy of the Lord is my strength" (Nehemiah 8:10)

Grace will cover us.. in the moments we're learning patience, in the tears that remind us we care deeply, in the feelings that stretch us toward growth. “My grace is sufficient for you" (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Love will be loud here. Through hugs, patience, forgiveness, and second chances (...and third, and fourth, and fifth chances). “Above all, love each other deeply" (1 Peter 4:8)

God's Word will guide us. Not culture, not comparison, not social media. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" (Psalm 119:105)

Rest is welcome here. In unhurried conversations, in laughter around the table, in taking in the beauty of this very season. “He makes me lie down in green pastures" (Psalm 23:2)

The enemy has no place here. Not in my home, not in my mind, not in my marriage, not in my motherhood.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7)

The Devil never rolls through the front door of your life announcing he’s going to destroy you.

He doesn’t show you a picture of yourself eighteen months from now living alone in a rented room because you’ve lost your most trusted relationships.

He doesn’t give you a PowerPoint presentation of clear, step-by-step plans of how he’s going to bring you to your destruction.

Instead, he slips through the side door. He lures and entices you. It’s like fishing.

We have to constantly watch out for the Devil’s lures.

When that temptation or harmful thought comes our way, it’s probably not going to look bad—not at first.

Initially it promises something good.

Sin offers a solution.
Sin guarantees relief.

If you’re down, sin brings you up.
If you’re stuck, sin shows the way out.
If you’re miserable, sin promises comfort.
If you’re outraged, sin offers the perfect justice.
If you’re lonely, sin becomes your best friend.

All lies.

All that feigned goodness, all those false solutions, all the relief, all the comfort, all the justice, all the camaraderie. All those promises are meaningless.

Sin is not your pal.
Sin is not on your side.
Sin doesn’t have your back.
Sin is never the fix it claims to be.
Sin is a mirage, always overpromising and underdelivering.

The Enemy works in your life by luring and lying.

He promises things he can’t deliver.
He challenges God’s truth.
He attacks God’s character and intentions.

The Enemy says things such as, Surely God’s holding out on you—you can’t trust him.
He essentially told Eve, If you eat from this fruit, your eyes will be opened; you’ll be like God.

The Enemy appeals to your basic human needs.

We all have the needs for acceptance, worth, satisfaction, and happiness.
The Enemy constantly holds out a lure and offers a lie: Hey, this is what you need to fulfill your needs. Take a bite. You deserve to be happy.

Don’t fall for the lies. Don’t chase the lure. Don’t give the Enemy a seat at your table.
