As a new ally, it’s your worst nightmare: Something you said or did hurt your LGBTQ+ loved one—and you genuinely didn’t mean to! Maybe you intended to say something nice and have no idea why it impacted them in that way.

➡️ Instead of getting defensive, try:
• Acknowledging (rather than minimizing) the impact.
• Remembering that a gentle correction is not a personal attack, but an opportunity for you to learn how to do better.
• Apologizing in a way that takes responsibility for the hurt that you caused.

Finding stable, affordable housing shouldn’t feel out of reach.

Last year, 211 made 6 million referrals for housing support, making up nearly 30% of all referrals and the highest on record.

Behind each number is a person or family navigating rising costs and tough decisions, like seeking help with rent, facing eviction, or searching for a safe place to stay.

211 is there in those moments by connecting people to local resources, legal support, and emergency services when it matters most.

Happy Pan Pride Day! We're celebrating our pans*xual and panromantic loved ones today and all year long! 🩷💛💙

➡️ What does it mean to be Pans*xual?
Pans*xual refers to a person whose emotional, romantic, and/or physical attraction is to people inclusive of all genders. People who are pans*xual need not have had any s*xual experience: It is the attraction and self-identification that determine the orientation.

➡️ What does it mean to be Panromantic?
Panromantic refers to an individual who is romantically attracted to people of all genders, but does not notice their partner's gender. Panromantic people often tend to feel that their partner's s*x and/or gender does little to define their relationship.

To our pans*xual and panromantic loved ones, we see you, we support you, and PFLAG loves you! 🏳️‍🌈 Check out the PFLAG Glossary to learn more about these and other terms: pflag.org/glossary

Winter holidays are right around the corner, and for some LGBTQ+ people, holidays mean celebration, joy, family, and togetherness! But for others, it can mean a time of stress, difficulty, and even sadness or depression. No matter what, PFLAG is here with support and guidance on how to navigate the holidays (or any days for that matter).

Visit pflag.org/resource/going-home-for-the-holidays-or-any-days to learn more and find tips, both for people who are LGBTQ+ and for families and allies. ❄️
