We're getting ready to start another great year at Summerville High School! Here are some of the 2024-2025 accomplishments were are proud to share:
● A full 6-year Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Accreditation lasting through June 2031!
● 99.25% graduation rate of Summerville/Connections students and of those graduates, 37% of them graduated meeting the UC/CSU entrance requirements, 28% of them were recognized by the CA Department of Education with the Golden State Seal Merit Diploma, and 14% of them were also recognized by the CA Department of Education with the State Seal of Biliteracy.
● Our AP students continue to perform at a high level!
○ 54 students passed an AP exam
○ 100% of our students passed the AP English exam
● 167 of our students earned college credit last year as a Dual Enrollment student!
● Our CA State Dashboard Results continue to climb making us the highest overall academic performing high school in the county (https://www.caschooldashboard.org/reports/55724135536750/2024 -career-card)
● Summerville Athletics continues their dominance!
○ Football - 2024 STATE CHAMPIONS, NorCal Champs, CIF-SJS Champs!, MLL Champs!
○ Boys Cross Country - MLL Champs, 2 runners making it to the State meet!
○ Girls Cross Country - 2nd place in the MLL, 2nd in Sections, and 22nd in the State!
○ Boys Basketball - CIF Playoff qualifiers!
○ Girls Basketball - CIF Playoff qualifiers!
○ Boys Soccer - Back-to-Back CIF-SJS Section Champs, Back-to-back undefeated MLL champs!
○ Girls Soccer - Undefeated MLL Champs!
○ Baseball - 2nd Place in MLL, CIF playoff qualifier!
○ Softball - CIF-SJS playoff qualifier!
○ Tennis - 2nd place in MLL, MLL Mixed Doubles Champs, MLL Boys Doubles Champs!
○ Boys Track and Field - 10 section qualifying athletes!
○ Girls Track and Field - 2nd place in MLL, 400m Champ, 5 school records broken, 11 section qualifying athletes, 1 Master’s qualifier, 1 National Simplot Games 400m finals qualifier!
○ Boys swimming 2nd place in MLL!
○ Girls swimming Undefeated MLL Champs!
○ Stunt Cheer - section qualifiers in their inaugural season!
● Summerville’s competitive academic teams continued their dominance as well!
○ Mock Trial - Tuolumne County Champions, State Championship qualifier!
○ Academic Decathlon - Tuolumne County Champions, State Championship qualifier!
○ 7th place finisher in the regional/state Spelling Bee!
○ Poetry Out Loud Champion!
● Our ASB program continues to be a model program in the State
○ California Association of Student Leaders (CASL) “Outstanding Leadership Program” award!
○ National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) “National Gold Council of Excellence” award!
● Our Connections Visual and Performing Arts program is still the best show in town with wonderful performances last year of The Descendants, The Wizard of Oz, and The Last Radio Show. Our annual film festival, art shows, dance recitals, band concerts, choir concerts, and parade appearances were once again “can’t miss” performances as well!
This long list of accomplishments is, believe it or not, only a small highlight from last year. Each week we will share out important information, updates and of course the great things happening here through our “Bear Bulletin” that is sent out every Friday afternoon.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon as we head into what is shaping up to be another fantastic school year.
