If getting everyone out the door this morning felt harder than expected, you are not alone.

The beginning of a new school year brings changes in sleep schedules, responsibilities, expectations and transitions. Even children who were looking forward to school may need time and support to adjust to a new morning routine.

On September 8, Diane Ogin of Pathway to Peace & Wellness will share practical ways parents and caregivers can create calmer, more manageable school mornings—without expecting every morning to go perfectly.

The free session is designed for families with school-age children of all ages.

Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s Richard “Dick” Daniels Memorial Float due to the uncertainty of the weather forecast and the potential for storms. While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to gather on the river this year, the safety of our participants always comes first.

Endless Mountains Outfitters will be contacting all registered participants regarding refunds in the coming days. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.

Although the event has been canceled, you can still honor Dick’s legacy by supporting the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation’s Scholarship in which he was instrumental in starting, which provides tuition assistance to graduating seniors from Wyoming County as they pursue their educational goals.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible contribution, donations can be made directly through the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, where the scholarship fund is held:

What an incredible collaboration with our community in mind! Last weekend, Healthy Family Partnership of Wyoming County unveiled its new Lactation & Diapering Station. A wonderful resource designed to help parents care for their little ones while enjoying community events throughout Wyoming County.

The station provides a private, comfortable space for nursing mothers and diaper changes, making it easier for families to spend time together at local outdoor events. It even features an outdoor changing station for dads, ensuring all caregivers have a convenient place to tend to their children.

The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation was proud to help support this initiative by assisting Healthy Family Partnership in securing grant funding through Guthrie to bring this project to life.

Congratulations to Healthy Family Partnership for recognizing a community need and turning it into an innovative solution that will benefit families for years to come. If you see the Lactation & Diapering Station at an upcoming event, be sure to stop by and check it out with your little one!

The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation was honored to present a grant to the Tunkhannock Assembly of God to support the purchase of a new Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This lifesaving equipment will be available in the event of a medical emergency and help improve emergency preparedness for both the church and the broader community.

The church also plans to host first responder training classes, creating additional opportunities for community members to learn lifesaving skills and be prepared when every second counts.

Next Tuesday, July 14th, don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for expecting parents in our community!

It has been years since Wyoming County has had dedicated pregnancy support resources available in the community. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the Wyoming County Healthcare Center and Healthy Family Partnership of Wyoming County to address this important need and provide meaningful support for growing families right here in Wyoming County.

If you or someone you know is currently pregnant and could benefit from this support, please share and encourage them to attend! 💕

The WCHC Speaker Series is free and open to the public, with support from the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation.

A Community Coming Together to Protect the Future of EMS in Wyoming County! ⛳

Following the closure of Wyoming County’s only hospital, supporting and strengthening our local Emergency Medical Services has become more important than ever. The Wyoming County Community Health Foundation’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament continues to serve as an opportunity for our community to come together and invest directly into the men and women who answer the call when we need them most.

As we mentioned in a previous posting this week, this year’s tournament proceeds are helping support critical EMS needs across Wyoming County, including lifesaving equipment, hands-on training opportunities, and long-term sustainability efforts for our local EMS organizations.

During the tournament, we were also honored to recognize the recipients of the second year of the EMS Staffing Program, an initiative created to support recruitment, retention, and staffing needs for our local ambulance services.

👏 Congratulations to this year’s EMS Staffing Program grant recipients:

🚑 Kunkle Fire Company, Inc. & Ambulance – $150,000
🚑 Meshoppen Fire Company & EMS – $150,000
🚑 Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association – $150,000

All three organizations applied and were approved to receive funding this calendar year. During June’s golf tournament, each organization was presented with their second allocation of $50,000, while also having the opportunity to showcase their equipment, meet with golfers, and share firsthand how this support is impacting emergency response throughout Wyoming County.

From keeping ambulances staffed, to providing lifesaving care, to preparing for the future, our EMS providers continue to show dedication, compassion, and commitment to our communities every single day.

As we close out our fiscal year, the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation is excited to share that our 7th Annual Golf Tournament raised $21,708.84 to support Emergency Medical Services right here in Wyoming County!

This incredible success would not have been possible without our amazing sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and community supporters who continue to show up for the health and safety of our community.

Because of this support, tournament proceeds are already making an impact:

Tunkhannock Community Ambulance Association:
A portion of funds will support the purchase of Interactive EMS Training Manikins and simulation equipment to benefit current and future emergency responders throughout Wyoming County. These tools will provide realistic, hands-on training in lifesaving skills including airway management, ventilation, suctioning, and IV/IO procedures, helping our EMS providers stay prepared when seconds matter.

FWM Emergency Service Inc.:
Funding will also support the purchase of an additional LIFEPAK 15 Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillator with Gateway technology, providing responders with advanced tools to monitor cardiac emergencies and share critical patient information quickly with medical providers.

Building the Future of EMS in Wyoming County:
Additional proceeds will continue supporting efforts toward a countywide EMS Collective, a collaborative model designed to help local EMS agencies share resources, reduce costs, strengthen operations, and focus on what matters most...providing lifesaving care to our residents.

“The success of this tournament represents much more than a day of golf, it represents a community standing behind our first responders,” said Shealynn Shave, Executive Director of the Wyoming County Community Health Foundation. “Every sponsor, golfer, volunteer, and supporter helped make these investments possible. Together, we are strengthening emergency response and supporting the future of EMS throughout Wyoming County.”

💙💚 Thank you to everyone who helped make our 7th Annual Golf Tournament such an incredible success!
