TPS staff joined us for our third and final Trauma-Informed Education training of the summer! Our final session was led by Kristen Hale, who led an engaging 2-hour session focused on de-escalation and building connection.

Across all three trainings, more than 180 TPS staff joined us this summer! We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support and train TPS staff during their summer break and help strengthen trauma-informed practices in the classroom and beyond.

We were proud to partner with the Children's Advocacy Centers of Oklahoma for their annual Victim Advocacy Training. Led by expert trainer Lauren Gardner, LPC, the session focused on Trauma-Informed Care for Families Impacted by Violence, equipping advocates from across the state with critical tools and strategies. Haruv USA, we are proud to collaborate with organizations like CACO to deliver high-quality, expert-led training programs that empower professionals and strengthen support systems across Oklahoma.

On July 21st, our team gathered at the Family Safety Center for a full day of dynamic learning for Camp Hope led by Haruv USA Coordinator Jordan Bayer and Experiential Learning Consultant Floyd Hinman. Counselors jumped into hands-on activities, strengthened their trauma informed knowledge, and connected over delicious morning refreshments and lunch.

In July, DeJon Knapp and Jordan Bayer of Haruv USA attended the 2026 Violence Prevention Research Conference hosted by the University of New Hampshire in Portsmouth, alongside colleagues from the Haruv Institute. It was an enriching experience, offering valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and connection with leaders in the field. Engaging with an international community of researchers and practitioners brought important global perspectives to our work and deepened our commitment to cross-cultural learning and violence prevention.

Our Training Coordinator, Jordan, was proud to participate in the launch of the OK Lived Experience Council. This council brings together experts with lived experience who have been impacted by adoptions and child welfare systems in OK. Their voices and perspectives will play a critical role in shaping efforts to better support children and families involved in child welfare. Stay tuned for updates on the council's important work and impact across Oklahoma.

Thank you to Lisa Dawson for providing a full-day training to Tulsa Public Schools staff on how trauma impacts child development. Attendees explored the effects of trauma on children's growth, behavior, learning, and relationships while gaining practical strategies to better support students in educational settings. We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen trauma-informed approaches in our schools.

Another great training with Circle of Care! A huge thank you to presenters Mack and Val for leading two engaging sessions on the intersection of nutrition and trauma. Participants gained valuable insights into how nutrition can impact healing, resilience, and overall well-being for children and families who have experienced trauma.
