Flag FΓͺte is coming! π―π²πΉπΉππΉπ¬πΎπ§π§
August 1 marks Emancipation Day, a day recognized across many Caribbean nations to commemorate the abolition of slavery in the British colonies in 1834. For many of us with Caribbean roots, it's a day to celebrate our history, our resilience, our culture, and the generations that came before us.
So we're celebrating the best way we know howβwith flags, music, dancing, and community. DJ Lito will be spinning and IslandSkyCo will have ho**ah on deck. Bring a flag to wave throughout the night, whether it represents your heritage, your home, or simply a place you love. All flags are welcome. β€οΈ
This celebration means a little more to me because it also marks the end of my chapter in Tulsa.
Tulsa gave me so much more than I ever expectedβit gave me community. Before I turn the page, I want to celebrate with the people who helped make Tulsa feel like home. So whether you've been to one event or 10, I'd love to see you there.
Expect:
π―π² Caribbean vibes
π€ Line dancing
π€ R&B sing-along
π₯ A farewell toast
Whether you're Caribbean by heritage, by friendship, or simply by appreciation, this night is for you. Bring your flag and let's make it a night to remember. β€οΈππ
