The three citywide town hall meetings have been scheduled for the third installment of Improve Our Tulsa, with a public vote planned for Aug. 8. The schedule for the Improve Our Tulsa town hall meetings is as follows:

Monday, April 24, 6 to 8 p.m. at Union High School Grand Hall and Atrium, 6636 S. Mingo Road

Tuesday, April 25, 6 to 8 p.m. at OU-Tulsa Schusterman Center, 4502 E. 41st Street (The open house/science fair will be Founders Hall, the presentation will be in a different room)

Monday, May 1, 6 to 8 p.m. at Greenwood Cultural Center, West Hall, 322 N. Greenwood Avenue

Last month, Mayor Bynum presented his Improve Our Tulsa proposal to the City Council, a $772 million package that will not raise taxes, but fund critical improvements to Tulsa’s streets, City facilities and equipment and provide substantial funding toward a $104.2 million Tulsa Housing Initiative that will help fill a critical need for housing in Tulsa. There is still discussion among the Mayor’s Office and City Council regarding the draft proposal, but as of today we are still working from the summary page that is posted on www.improveourtulsa.com.

The meeting format will consist of a split presentation/open house “science fair format”. First, there will be a quick presentation by Mayor Bynum and Council Chair Patrick for an overview of the draft proposal, then we will break into the open house/science fair portion where Tulsans will be able to go around the room and ask questions of the experts. We will also have comment cards around the room in case Tulsans want to ask their questions that way – and there will be a form on our website.

We are having an Open House tomorrow, Thursday, June 22nd, from 11am-1pm. Meet Lori or Alex at the old S&J's Oysters and they will take you up to see our apartments on the 2nd or 3rd floors. The elevator isn't up and running yet so make sure you wear comfortable shoes to takes some stairs.

City of Tulsa Gov released a draft of the proposed revision of subdivision regulations. A public meeting will be held June 27, and the city is accepting public comments until June 30. Though less well-known than the zoning code, these regulations have big impacts on the way our neighborhoods function and connect with one another.

"Artists like Phillips are part of GKFF's proposed solution to the lack of downtown density, Phillips described. The fellowship program, in addition to attracting artistic talent to Tulsa, is also intended "to people" the Brady Arts District.

The building itself was renovated with an eye toward improving the walk-ability of the Brady Arts District.

Often, developers and city governments will say they can improve both by investing in large-scale, big ticket projects and complexes. But what if cities took the opposite approach and catered first to the real world needs of their new and existing downtown residents instead of simply counting them at the turnstile and moving on to these other projects?"
