VetFest Broken Arrow to Provide Direct Access to VA Benefits and Veteran Support Services
Broken Arrow, OK — EAGLE OPS Foundation, in partnership with VA representatives, the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, Veteran Service Organizations, and Life.Church South Broken Arrow, will host VetFest Broken Arrow on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at 5801 S Elm Place.
VetFest is a free Veteran Resource Fair designed to give Veterans direct, in-person access to the services and support they have earned. Representatives will be available on site to assist with:
â—ŹVA health care enrollment
â—ŹDisability and survivor claims
â—ŹToxic exposure screenings (TES)
â—ŹClaim status questions
â—ŹVA ID cards
â—ŹAdding or removing dependents
â—ŹConnections to local Veteran resources
This year’s event will also include the first Unenrolled Veteran Town Hall hosted in partnership with the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System (EOVAHCS).
From 11:00-12:00 Director Dr. Denning will be speaking in the Life Church Konnect Room.
While EOVAHCS regularly hosts local and virtual Veteran Town Halls, this special session is designed specifically for Veterans who have never enrolled in VA health care and want to better understand the benefits available to them. EOVAHCS Executive Director Kimberly Denning, DNP, RN will host the Unenrolled Veteran Town Hall from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Konnect Room during VetFest.
“VetFest is about access,” said Johnathon Shepherd, Executive Director of Eagle OPS Foundation. “When we bring VA partners, Veteran Service Organizations, and community leaders together in one place, Veterans have the opportunity to get answers face-to-face and connect directly with the services available to them.”
The event is free and open to all Veterans and their families. Food trucks and family-friendly activities will also be available throughout the day.
Media representatives are invited to attend. Interviews with organizers, participating partners, and attending Veterans can be arranged on site.
