On April 17th, The Tulsa (OK) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Arts Facet partnered with Services to Youth at John Hope Franklin to deliver a meaningful and creative experience for the girls in the program. Miss Black Oklahoma Pre‑Teen, Zoey Ball, led an engaging, hands‑on project focused on recycling and gardening. Each participant planted a begonia plant in a recycled grape container, learning how sustainability and creativity can work together. The girls also enjoyed Black Artist Bingo, where they were introduced to notable Black artists and their contributions to the arts.
This experience blended creativity, culture, and environmental awareness in a meaningful way. The girls gained new skills while developing an appreciation for sustainability and the contributions of Black artists. The partnership highlighted the impact of collaboration in inspiring young minds and encouraging them to see themselves as creative contributors and responsible stewards of their communities.
