Tulsa Remoter Jackie Gonzales aw a gap in weekday community life and created School Night Social Club to fill it. One year in, her weeknight craft nights, karaoke gatherings, and service projects are giving Tulsans new ways to meet people, make things, and support local causes, without waiting for the weekend.

School Night Social Club is one example of what’s possible in Tulsa: if you see a gap, you can actually build something new and people will show up.

Wondering how to put social capital to work in your neighborhoods, schools, programs, or communities?

Vote for the proposed SXSW panel “Careers Without Ladders: Use Social Capital to Step Up.”

Our Managing Director, Justin Harlan, will be joined by three leaders building social capital in their cities to explore how social capital can change the trajectory of our job market.

They’ll share real-world models of cities, programs, and neighborhoods using social capital as a core strategy to boost economic mobility, plus practical methods you can adapt to facilitate connection in your own community.
