It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our longtime member and Brother, Patrick Weber, on June 11, 2026.

Patrick was a dedicated member of the American Airlines team for three decades. He began his career with us in 1996 as an Overhaul Support Mechanic and, through his hard work and skill, was promoted to Aviation Maintenance Technician in 1999. His contributions to our craft and his camaraderie within the union will be deeply missed.

We ask that you please keep the Weber family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Primary Election: Early voting is open now for the June 16 Primary Election.
Raise the Wage: Support SQ 832 to gradually raise the minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2029.

⚠️ Important Reminders:

Shift Swaps & Overtime: Please review your contract (Article 15 & 18). Working 24 hours straight is a contract violation.
Safety & Documentation: Always wear required PPE (safety glasses and bump hats) and only sign off on paperwork for work you personally performed.
Transfers: Remember to check requirements for medical/fit tests before transferring to a new area.

Early Voting Begins!

Early voting begins today for the June 16 Primary Election. Early voting locations will be open Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12 (8 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Voters are reminded that Oklahoma has closed primaries. For 2026, in order to participate in a party’s primary election, you must be a registered voter of that party. More information about primary elections is available on the State Election Board website. https://oklahoma.gov/elections/elections-results/primary-and-runoff-primary-elections.html

While the June Election includes party primary elections – all registered voters in Oklahoma (including Independents) are eligible to vote on State Question 832. Independents may also vote in any nonpartisan elections on the ballot such as for district judge and local propositions. You do not need to participate in a party’s primary election in order to vote on the State Question or participate in nonpartisan elections or local elections.

Voters are reminded that early voting locations are different than polling places. All counties have at least one designated early voting location. You must vote in the county where you are registered to vote. A list of early voting locations, dates, and times is available on the State Election Board website, along with the election list. Troy was a dedicated member of our community and a mainstay here at American Airlines, where he began his career as an Aviation Maintenance Technician in 1988. His years of skill, hard work, and commitment to his craft will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved retired brother, Don Foster, on March 30, 2026.

Don began his career with American Airlines in 1988 as a dedicated Machinist and served with pride and skill until his retirement in 2009. He was a valued member of our community and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.

We kindly ask that you keep the Foster family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Thank you for standing together in remembrance of Don’s service, friendship, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Obituary for Don Foster

Donald “Don” Ray Foster was born on Sunday, December 21, 1947 to parents, Earl Denzil Foster and Clara Belle (Blankenship) Foster in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He left our world from Tulsa, Oklahoma on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the age of 78.
Don was a 1967 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. In those younger years, he was around horses and loved riding them. After graduation he joined the United States Army. Once back in the United States, he returned to Broken Arrow and built a steadfast career at American Airlines as a machinist and then really enjoyed his retirement.

Don had three sons. When they were young, he was very active in their participation with the Boy Scout Troops.
Always on the go, Don liked to stay busy. He was very talented at furniture restoration, something he thoroughly enjoyed. He was interested in farm equipment and had a unique collection. He was involved in the Late Great and Yester Years Car Club. Don was a member of the BA Senior Citizen Center and loved to gather and interact with his friends. Playing cards was one thing he had a good time participating in. He appreciated humor and had such a great ‘sense of humor’ all throughout his life. Don was constantly cracking jokes. Just a fun guy to be around. Another thing he was fond of was traveling with Frances and listening to music. Don will be greatly missed by family and friends!

Local 514 Weekly Digest: Key Updates & Calls to Action!

1. Upcoming Contract Negotiations

President Dale Danker is focused on preparations for the next contract negotiations with American Airlines.

Member Action Required: We urge all members to participate in the upcoming surveys. When filling them out, please include specific "quality-of-life issues" like improved break-room seating (e.g., zero-gravity chairs), not just wages and benefits.
Timeline: The negotiating committee is expected to return to Phoenix during the last week of June and first few days of July for the next phase of preparations.
Updates: A centralized Association website is being developed to be the single source for negotiation updates for M&R, MLS, MCT, and MTS groups.

2. Important Reminders

Job Security: Three employees were recently caught sleeping on the job, which is a serious safety concern and can lead to termination.
Safety: Safety glasses must be worn in hangars at all times, and bump hats are required when working in the shadow of an aircraft.
Overtime: The TOPP report is the only official notification for overtime awards (not emails or WorkBrain). Also, remember you cannot work three shifts in a row (Art 15, paragraph I) and must remove yourself from the OT list if you accept shifts that would cause this.
Legislation: Ask your Congressman to co-sponsor the bipartisan No Tax on Overtime for All Workers Act (H.R. 5475 / S. 4310) to support working families.

Union Steward Meeting: Monday, June 8, 2026 (7:15 am, 11:45 am, and 3:45 pm).
AMT Interviews are being conducted in Tulsa on June 9 and 10.
Veterans Meeting: Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1 pm in the hangar 4 grievance office.
TWU Family Day 2026: Saturday, June 27, 10 AM-7 PM at the WE Street Center. Registration is open.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of brother David Dallenbach, who left us on May 25, 2026. David started working here at American Airlines in 1988 as a Plant Maintenance Mechanic in Facilities Maintenance. After a dedicated career, he retired on April 30, 2008.

Please keep David’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they mourn the loss of a loving husband, father, and brother.

May he rest in peace.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of David Eugene Dallenbach in Tulsa, Oklahoma, born in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, who passed away on May 25, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugo John Dallenbach and Francis Marjorie Owczarzak Dallenbach; and his siblings, Marilyn Phillippe, Michael Dallenbach, John Dallenbach and Richard Dallenbach.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Todd Dallenbach (Wendy) of Owasso, Troy Dallenbach (Christine) of Lima and Debra Simmons (Tracy) of Tulsa; his grandchildren, Madison Dallenbach, Christopher Dallenbach, Tommy Dallenbach, Payton Simmons, Sophia Simmons, Sydney Simmons and Parker Simmons; and his great grandchildren, Penelope Rose Dallenbach and Jeremiah Todd Panakos.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Linda Jaques, who left us on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Linda began her journey with American Airlines in 1996, starting as a Building Cleaner. Her dedication and hard work quickly earned her a promotion to Aircraft Cleaner, just a few months later. In 1997, she took on a new challenge as a Parts Washer, and in 2001, she made the transition to Overhaul Support Mechanic.

Throughout her nearly three decades with American Airlines, Linda was a valued member of our team, and her contributions will not be forgotten. We extend our deepest condolences to Linda’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

Please join us in remembering and celebrating the life and legacy of our sister, Linda Jaques. We will miss her dearly, but her memory will live on in our hearts and in the work we do every day.
