Today, we commemorate Juneteenth—a day that marks freedom, resilience, and the enduring strength of a people who never stopped hoping, believing, and pushing forward.

On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned they were free. Juneteenth reminds us that freedom, equity, and opportunity are worth pursuing for every generation.

At WHOW, we recognize the power of education, community, and empowerment to create lasting change. As we celebrate this important day, we honor those who came before us, acknowledge the progress made, and recommit ourselves to building a future where every individual has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Let us continue to lift one another, support our communities, and walk boldly in wisdom, purpose, and freedom.
