Once a district's Most Outstanding Kindergarten Teacher in the Philippines, Jacklyn B. Tuazon left an established career to start over as an exchange teacher on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota.

Four years later, she teaches kindergarten to Oglala Lakota children and has been embraced by the community so fully that her husband was given a Lakota name.

With back-to-school assistance being cut, we’re coming together to make sure students across the reservation have what they need before school starts.

If you’d like to help, you can:

• Ship donations directly or drop them off at Ground Control (403 Apache Dr., Pine Ridge, SD) for our Back-to-School Rez Tour where we will be reaching all 9 districts.
