Today, we honor and celebrate the strength, resilience, and cultural richness of Indigenous peoples. 🌎✨
This day holds deep meaning for us at Khan Ohana Foundation — one of our founding members and current board members are Indigenous, representing communities from the Black Hills (Oglala Lakota, Southeastern United States and Palestine/Gaza. Their heritage and lived experiences guide our mission of empowerment and community care.
Through our Indigenous Peoples’ Initiative, we continue this commitment year-round by supporting Native families and Elders in our region — providing rent, utility, transportation, seasonal relief assistance and more to help meet essential needs and preserve dignity.
Honoring Indigenous Peoples means recognizing their continued struggle and presence, contributions, and the importance of preserving traditions for generations to come. 🪶
