Before we officially welcome summer we must reminisce on our wonderful season finale, the May 3 Spring Serenade.

We are so proud of our students and their commitment to learning and growing both on their instruments and as members of an orchestra. Yes- playing in an ensemble is a team sport!

It has been a tremendous year with Maestro Wes Atkinson at the helm of the Preparatory Orchestra, and an honor to watch him guide budding conductor Emory Botchlet, winner of this season’s Conducting Competition!

Sunday’s Spring Serenade marked the end of our 62nd season which means it is time to begin auditions for our 63rd.

Registration to audition for TYS and participate in our program during the 2026-2027 school year is open. Live auditions will take place May 18-21 and audition excerpts are available now. After a remarkable 20 years of inspiring students through music, kindness, and heart it is time to celebrate his retirement.
