This week we dove into Quarter 1 Data at THA. One of THA's school design principles is strategic use of data, which is why we gather all staff once a quarter to review our current standing and trajectory. Although it's only Quarter 1, the results show English Language Arts (ELA) scores are improving—our last interim exams showed a 10% increase in ELA testing from last year’s Q1 interim exams, showing that our scholars can and will READ. WRITE. RISE.

Esta semana analizamos los datos del primer cuarto (trimestre) de THA. Creemos que la principal guía de toda institución es el conocimiento; por eso, reunimos a todo el personal una vez cada cuarto para entender mejor nuestra situación actual y el rumbo que llevamos. Aunque apenas es el primer cuarto, los resultados muestran que las calificaciones en Artes del Lenguaje Inglés (ELA) están mejorando: en nuestros últimos exámenes del cuarto trimestre hubo un aumento del 10% en los puntajes de ELA en comparación con los del primer trimestre del año pasado. College Application Week was a SUCCESS!🎉🎉🎉

Across our four seminar periods, the Class of 2027 reported an impressive 252 college applications, with 71 of our 76 seniors (that is 3.55 applications per senior) submitting at least one application by the end of the week! From researching colleges and navigating application portals to reviewing requirements and pressing that final submit button, scholars have been putting in the work. We are excited to celebrate their effort and braveness as they work towards this next chapter!

¡La Semana de Aplicaciones Universitarias fue todo un ÉXITO! 🎉🎉🎉

A lo largo de nuestros cuatro periodos de seminario universitario, la Clase de 2027 reportó una impresionante cifra de 252 solicitudes universitarias, ¡con 71 de nuestros 76 estudiantes del último año (es decir, 3.55 solicitudes por alumno) enviando al menos una solicitud para cuando terminó la semana. Investigar universidades y navegar por los portales de aplicaciones, revisar los requisitos y presionar el botón final de envío, los alumnos trabajaron duro para soñar con un día mejor. ¡Estamos muy emocionados de celebrar su esfuerzo y valentía mientras se encaminan a este próximo capítulo!

On Monday, October 12th, as Tulsa Honor Academy stands on Oklahoma soil, we wish to honor Indigenous Peoples' Day. We celebrate the enduring, vibrant, and resilient spirits of the First Nations whose heritage is woven into the very fabric of our community to this very day.

This is also Fall Break!
-Monday, Oct 12: No classes (Indigenous Peoples' Day)
-Tuesday, Oct 13: No classes for scholars (Staff Professional Development Day)
Classes resume on Wednesday, October 14th. Enjoy the extended break, familias!

We at THA are proud to be nerdy, and so we reward our scholars with something they can wear proudly! A total of 161 scholars met their growth goals for the Pre-ACT and the ACT. Every point earned is a step closer to expanded college and university opportunities, and we will never stop celebrating the hard work it takes to get there.
