🌍 Today is World Refugee Day.
This year’s theme, “Until Everyone Is Safe,” reminds us that millions of people around the world have been forced to flee their homes due to war, persecution, violence, and disaster.
At Khan Ohana Foundation, we have had the privilege of serving refugee families from Syria, Afghanistan, Sudan, the Central African Republic, and many other countries as they rebuild their lives here in Oklahoma. Today, we also stand in solidarity with displaced people everywhere, including refugees and internally displaced persons affected by ongoing crises in Palestine, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Myanmar, Ukraine, Sudan, and beyond.
According to the United Nations, World Refugee Day honors the strength, courage, and resilience of people who have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety. It is also an opportunity for all of us to build empathy, understanding, and support for those who continue to face uncertainty and displacement.
As we reflect on the challenges refugees endure, we also celebrate their resilience, contributions, and determination to create brighter futures for themselves and their families.
