Isaiah's moved into our home on 9th Street on November 19, 2022—because one woman listened to the nudging of the Holy Spirit and obeyed. On September 20, 2022, Isaiah’s was evicted from our location in the Admiral Place Shopping Mall. We were given 60 days to get out.

Even before the eviction, we sensed that our mission as a drop-in center had been completed and God was leading us in a new direction. But rents were running $3,000 to $7,000 a month—no exaggeration.

We were evicted on a Tuesday. I went home, fell to my knees, and cried out to God: “Father, if You’re finished with Isaiah’s, I trust You and I will go wherever You lead. But if not, will You PLEASE show us where we’re going BEFORE day 60.”

I met with a pastor friend. We prayed and pleaded with the Father, and before I left she said, “God will reveal His plan within the month.” That Saturday, during our Board meeting, I asked our Board to believe—if God had a plan, we would know.

The following Monday, a friend sent me a picture of a building and said she didn’t know what was going on with Isaiah 58, In His service but she felt led to send it.

On Wednesday, we were inside that building. A Board member, one of our guys, and three realtors sat at a table and prayed. Then the lead realtor said, “Deni, if you’re serious about this building, you’ll need to sign a letter of intent.”

They wanted $200,000 for a 4,600 square foot building and 1.3 acres. I sighed—reality check: I didn’t have a job, our assets were two beat up vans, and we had about $400 in the bank. I smiled and signed it anyway. Our God is a big God. If He wanted us to have this building, He would make a way.

The next morning, Elle called. She said she had been wrestling with God since leaving our meeting. Over and over, God showed her in Scripture that she was supposed to buy the building for us—and we could pay her back whenever we could. And she did.
On November 19, 2022—exactly 60 days from the day we were evicted—we moved into our new home!

By May 2025, we still owed Elle for the building. I reminded God of this, and He nudged us to claim $250,000 by June 1, 2026. He showed us how He would provide what we needed in one year.

We had just published our book, LOVE GOES: Stories of Stirring the Pot, Sitting in the Mess, and Loving Like Jesus. Four of us donated $1,000, and I wrote a letter inviting our donors to give $1,000 toward our building fund. In return, we would send them a signed copy of the book so they could read God's vision for Isaiah’s Neighborhood: A Place to Belong in the epilogue.

We snail mailed and emailed the letters to about 700 donors—and we began thanking God for His provision.

By April 23, 2026, we had $196,000 in our building account! On April 24, we received a $50,000 check, bringing the total to $246,000! I spent the weekend thanking Jesus. On April 27—my dad’s birthday—I deposited the check. A donor asked me how much we still needed. I told her $4,000. She replied, “It’s on the way.” On May 12—my sister’s birthday—we deposited the final $4,000.

Let me emphasize:
We did not do a capital campaign.
We did not host a fundraising gala.
We did not receive a grant.
We did not receive United Way, state or federal money.
We did not send envelopes or plead with people to give.
As Reverend George Müller did before us—we prayed.

On June 1st at noon, we will present Elle with a check for $215,000 and pay off our building! Our friends from Mobile Missions Network, Will's House, One Hope Tulsa, Emerge Global - Single Mom Hope and Help, and Hope Dealerz will join us to share how they love our neighbors. Alice will be making Indian tacos, we’ll be giving away “Our Debt Is Paid in Full” T shirts, and Jason Gray will be set up by our koi pond for an outdoor acoustic concert. Yes—Jason Gray. Bring a lawn chair!!!

We did NOT raise the money.
God provided $250,000.
To God be the glory.
Come check out Isaiah’s on Monday – it’s holy ground.

We can do more. We can do better. Together.

By the time I arrived at Isaiah's, the Miller family was already in high gear. Arik, Kenric’s dad was in the kitchen preparing dinner, Tara, his mom was setting up the tables and arranging the room and Ethan and Lily, Kenric’s siblings were blowing up balloons – a LOT of balloons! The tables were decked out in red, white and blue; the stage was set, fellow scouts were rehearsing their lines as masters of ceremony and in two hours Kenric Jon Robert Miller would be bestowed with the rank of Eagle Scout.

Saturday night Isaiah’s was thrilled to host Kenric's Eagle Scout Court of Honor. As I walked through Kenric’s life from Tiger scout to Eagle Scout as displayed on the largest table in the room, I was overcome with a profound sense of hope. It has been said that the distance from lost to found is paved with hands-on experience, critical thinking skills and honest meaningful relationships.

The patches, maps, badges, awards, ball caps, trophy’s, neckerchiefs and memories individually and collectively told the story of a young boy becoming a responsible, polite, empathetic, respected young man over a decade of commitment and dedication.

The evening unfolded with pomp and circumstance. Presentation of the colors, invocation, Eagle Scout Pledge and Oath, presentation of pins, recognition of his parents and his mentors, it was breathtaking! A ceremony filled with tradition, honor and an understanding none of it is to be taken for granted or dismissed as insignificant.

By the end of the night, as the Eagle Scout medal rested over his heart, it struck me that this wasn’t just a ceremony—it was a map. A map of where he’s been, who has walked with him, and the God who has guided every step.

The same hands that once fumbled with rope and compass now carry wisdom, gentleness, and resolve. The same boy who once followed trails now creates them for others.

And in that moment, surrounded by family, mentors, and a community cheering him on, it became clear: The journey that shaped him is now the journey he will use to shape others.

“A primary object should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country?” George Washington

“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Franklin D. Roosevelt

“The young do not know enough to be prudent, and therefore they attempt the impossible, and achieve it, generation after generation.” Pearl S. Buck

It had been a long day, and my plan was simple: slip quietly into the back row, support my Social Work intern as he graduated from Crossover Preparatory Academy, and make a discreet exit. I had no idea Jesus was about to refresh my soul and breathe new hope into me.

When the 11 young men walked into the auditorium, I realized I knew the families of two students other than Zion. Zion, the class Salutatorian and my intern, spoke with humility, gratitude, and a touch of humor that revealed both his character and calling. He already carries the heart of a Social Worker: steady under pressure, compassionate, ready to advocate and willing to step into uncomfortable conversations simply because someone needed him to.

I have strongly encouraged him to become a hands and feet Social Worker—one who does home visits, listens between the words, practices intentional quietude, and does the tedious, unseen work that guides people toward Hope. Whatever path he chooses, I know the place where he lets his light shine will be changed for good.

But the hope I felt wasn’t just in Zion’s achievements. It was in the three young men—Zion and two others—who walked that stage together. Three young men stepping into the world believing God can do anything through them, surrounded by families who love Jesus and have instilled integrity, responsibility, and kindness. They are part of our future and watching them reminded me that God is still raising up leaders who will carry His light into dark places.

“What should young people do with their lives today? Many things, obviously. But the most daring thing is to create stable communities in which the terrible disease of loneliness can be cured.” Kurt Vonnegut

What a beautiful Mom’s Day at Isaiah's! This morning’s sermon stirred us to be bold in our faith, so we invited everyone in service to take on a simple but powerful challenge.

Thanks to a generous donor, our moms were able to pick out a handmade Blessing Boutique gift for themselves—and a second gift to give away to someone they will share their testimony with who needs hope.

Our guys joined the challenge too, choosing a gift to give to someone they plan to tell about Jesus. We love seeing our whole church family step out in faith together.

After church, we headed over to TulsaRama for ice cream treats. Jennifer and Jasper welcomed us with big smiles, and the owner, William Franklin, served unforgettable salted caramel coffee. Isaiah's loves supporting local, and we’re grateful to have TulsaRama as a neighbor just up the hill from us!

Today we also celebrate the women who don’t have biological children but faithfully show up for others. You’re the ones who answer the late-night calls, cheer at graduations, hold space for tears, and speak life when it’s needed most. Your love is real and matters more than you can ever know.

Isaiah’s was incredibly blessed by Elaine and Richard, Melissa Rockelman, Alice, and Diane, whose handmade and home‑cooked gifts made our Blessing Boutique last Sunday so special.

The day was beautiful, and with the doors open, the aroma of Indian Tacos welcomed everyone who stopped by. We’re thankful for every friend—old and new—who came to support the work God is doing here. Thank you Donna LeMonier, Vickie Horton, Don Wilson, Nolan Jones (videographer), Dineen and Roger, Luis, and Travis for your servant hearts!

If you weren’t able to join us, we still have lovely handmade pieces available—necklaces, placemats, tote bags, cards, and patriotic items perfect for celebrating America’s birthday.

Historically, Isaiah's does not do fundraisers. We follow the Reverend Mueller approach to raising funds, we pray! Elaine and Richard love Isaiah's and have been spending hours creating and praying over handmade items to donate to us - so we can sell to raise money for our building fund.

There is a twofold reason we humbly accept their support. One, they are extremely talented and the gifts they make are keepsakes for a lifetime. The other reason is for you to visit Isaiah's and meet some of Isaiah's family as well as see first-hand Isaiah's Neighborhood, a community of belonging, relationships and Jesus!

That's not all! Melissa Rockelman has donated some of her amazing artwork, Alice has created authentic native necklaces AND she'll be making Indian Tacos!! There will be Isaiah's merch, including our book LOVE GOES: Stories of Stirring the Pot, Sitting in the Mess and Loving Like Jesus (the last two chapters share our vision for building Isaiah's Neighborhood), autographed books by Jan Karon!

May 03, 2026, from 2pm to 6pm - four hours that will not only bless you but nudge you to do more and do better!

We can do more. We can do better. Together.
