Last Wednesday I learned my friend Kimber Fenili passed away. She was a brilliant artist and a beautiful soul. My first class in art dollmaking was a bit difficult for me. I had been teaching myself and then this amazing bunch of people came in to my life. Kimber was so kind to me at that class. I had gone to the bathroom to cry because my fabric choices were wrong for the project. My sewing machine was loud. I realized I didn't know what I was doing but I wanted to make these dolls so badly. And I wanted to be friends with these people. Kimber was so kind. She and Jayne Hill Swanson made me feel safe and comfortable and welcome. She always messaged me on the holidays. And chatted with me from time to time. She encouraged me as I grew in the art. And she made such beautiful dolls. She was so gifted. So much talent. I will miss her bright soul in my life.
