Tracy Park Historic Neighborhood

Tracy Park Historic Neighborhood The Tracy Park Historic District is a small pocket of houses nearly surrounded by expressways and commercial development.

Tracy Park was placed in the Oklahoma Landmarks Inventory in July of 1978, and the National Register of Historic Places and is also on the National Preservation Society It consists of approximately seventy residences built in the early 1920s in the Ridgewood Addition that once abutted the Central Business District and the prestigious Maple Ridge neighborhood to the south. It was reduced in size by

demolition necessary for construction of the southeast interchange of the Inner Dispersal Loop. Primarily residential in character, this small neighborhood contains bungalows and two-story frame and brick houses originally built for Tulsa’s growing, oil-related middle class, managers, small businessmen and a few professionals. The neighborhood conveys a sense of historical and architectural cohesiveness as expressed in the eclectic style found in many 1920s developments. Clapboard, stucco, and brick were used by Tulsa builders in their adaptations of Georgian Revival, Dutch Colonial, Spanish, Cottage and Bungalow styles. The deed restrictions controlling construction in the Ridgewood Addition made it one of the first standardized subdivision developments in Tulsa. There are blocks of bungalows north of 12th Street, but south of 12th Street the deed restrictions required two-story housing. These restrictions helped to produce the neighborhood scale that unified Tracy Park’s eclectic architecture. The area contains two buildings listed on the Oklahoma Landmarks Inventory. One of these, the “French Cottage,” now has a commercial use, as do nearly all of the original residences on the west side of Peoria. The other Oklahoma Landmarks Inventory building is the Art Deco residence of Adah Robinson, designed by Robinson and her student, Bruce Goff.

Guys, there are 2 dogs roaming the neighborhood. One is an American Boxer and the other is a very large white and brown dog. I tried to take a picture of them, but they where gone by the time I got my phone. They were in Carmen & Jason's house on the corner of 11th Place and Norfolk by the Tennis Courts

Hey Guys! There is an "Unhoused Tent/Tents set up along the bike path on the Southside of 13th street between Peoria & Newport. Several of us have reported it to the Mayor's Action line 311 or 918 596 2100, but it has been there almost 2 weeks. If you can please take a moment to report this! Thanks Terry

Well as it gets warmer outside the homeless situation is out of control! For whatever reason, a homeless man decided to light the Porta Potty next door to me ,at the remodel house on fire. When I pulled in my driveway he was next to the Porta Potty breaking up sticks for firewood. The front door to the remodel house was standing open . I went inside to secure it and make sure that no one was inside and when I came out, it was on fire

Guys we have got to get proactive in calling the Mayors office , television stations, City Council, newspapers and whatever we need to do to bring attention to the problems that we’re having in our subdivision.

It is literally out-of-control! There are 2 homeless tent cities just west of my house next to the IDL
