Pride is a celebration of who we are, the community we have built, and the future we continue to work toward.

At Oklahomans for Equality, our commitment to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community extends far beyond a single day or event. Every day, we work to ensure people across Oklahoma can access vital, life saving services, find support, and know they have a place where they belong. In a particularly devastating year for many in our community, that work has been especially important. Pride gives us an opportunity to come together and remind one another that we are not alone. Even in the most challenging times, making space for beauty, joy, and visibility while continuing to organize and push for a better future is essential. We deserve not only to get through difficult times, but to thrive.

Pride is not a given. It happens because people choose to show up, give their time and resources, and build something bigger than themselves. Tulsa Pride would not be possible without the staff, volunteers, artists, community members, supporters and allies who give so much of themselves to bring this celebration to life. At a time when Pride’s across the country are facing growing challenges, sustaining Tulsa Pride for future generations requires intentional work, continued commitment, and a community willing to invest in its future. That is a responsibility we take seriously, and one we share with everyone who makes Pride possible.

Pride is also an opportunity to honor those who came before us, recognize how far we have come, and continue building a future where the 2SLGBTQIA+ community can live openly and thrive in Oklahoma.

As we head into Pride tomorrow, I hope you find moments of joy, celebrate the people who make this community what it is, and leave feeling connected to something bigger than yourself.

To our staff, volunteers, artists, supporters, and the broader community: thank you for the time, talent, energy, and generosity you have poured into bringing Tulsa Pride to life. This celebration is a labor of love, made possible by people who believe our community deserves a place to gather, organize, celebrate, and exist with dignity. Every contribution matters, and we are grateful to everyone who helps make Tulsa Pride possible.

It is a privilege to do this work alongside you. I look forward to celebrating with you tomorrow.

Happy Pride!
