Carole Robertson Day is an annual national day of remembrance observed by Jack and Jill of America, Inc. every September to honor the memory of Carole Robertson and the three other young African American girls: Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, and Cynthia Wesley, who tragically lost their lives in the 16th Street Baptist Church bombing in Birmingham, Alabama, on September 15, 1963.
For the 2026 Carole Robertson Day activity, the Tulsa Chapter focused on combining historic memory with active community engagement and service:
Honoring Civil Rights Heritage: The chapter gathered to commemorate the young lives lost during the Civil Rights Movement, utilizing the day to educate children and teens on leadership, justice, and community advocacy.
Youth & Community Service: The event incorporated hands-on youth activities, youth-led community projects, and reflection, fostering unity and service across the chapter's age groups.
Chapter Fellowship: Members, mothers, and children spent the day honoring legacy while strengthening bonds across the Tulsa chapter.
