For 3 years KW had a code enforcement officer dedicated to working only in our neighborhood. Here is a link listing the 557 cases that officer worked in KW from 06/19 to 02/22.
Reading these is akin to a master class in what can be reported to Code Enforcement and how those reports can be worded effectively.
FYI, Code Enforcement cases can lead to homes being taken from the owner by the government. Before reporting any issue it is worth considering whether the owner occupied the home or it is owned by an absentee landlord be they an individual, a company, or an institution. You may be the catalyst in a chain of events that leads to them losing ownership of their property.
GKFF funded neighborhood organizations helped write the KW Sector Plan in which it states that the government will give preference to neighborhood organizations when selling the houses they acquire.
At a quick glance, at least one house taken by the government because of a case initiated by the GKFF code enforcement officer is now owned by a GKFF funded neighborhood organization. Make what you will of all that.
Just something to think about when you are reporting an old or sick neighbor for tall grass instead of just helping them mow their dang lawn.
