Omega Home Network

Omega Home Network Fostering end-of-life care homes. Follow us on Twitter Omega Homes are an alternative collaborative partner to traditional medical hospices.

Through passionate grassroots efforts, community-supported homes for dying people are established to offer a place of warmth and loving care for people who can no longer remain in their own homes during the last months of life. End-of-life homes are known informally and collectively by many different names: Comfort Care Homes, Homes for the Dying, and Social Model Hospice Homes. Varying in size, a

ppearance, and internal policies, and located in multiple states across the country, they all share a common holistic foundation and philosophy and unite under the Omega Home Network. Each home reflects the spirit of the people and the culture of the community that came together to create and sustain it. The Omega Home provides a loving home to dying individuals in caregiver crisis as a charity based service. Considered the "next-best-thing to home" the Omega Home is focused on individualized, cost-effective, compassionate, hands-on care of dying people and their families.

The Art & Heart of Caring Conference: Speaker and Session Highlights

From Othering to Togethering: The Spectrum of Pity, Sympathy, Empathy and Compassion.

This session examines how our responses to suffering shape the care we provide at the end of life and clarifies the differences between empathy, pity and sympathy. Dr. Clark will highlight how pity and sympathy can create distance, while empathy builds connection but requires boundaries. Participants will explore how compassion moves beyond feeling into grounded, skillful action that protects dignity and offers steady presence. Attendees will leave with practical insight to provide care that is both deeply human and sustainably grounded.

Voices of Experience: Final Questions We Didn’t Answer

This interactive roundtable invites attendees to guide the conversation as we explore the lingering questions and unresolved challenges. Rather than a formal presentation, this session creates a shared space where participants can voice their own experiences, compare lessons learned and surface the topics that still feel unfinished.
