What does learning massage look like in the classroom? 💆‍♀️

This week, Audrey Manley, Head of our Massage Therapy Department, is guiding students through Swedish massage techniques, including scalp and focused foot massage. In this video, she shares a few tips for scalp massage and explains how understanding the client’s hair texture, scalp, and nervous system can help create a relaxing experience.

Meet Audrey Manley, Head of our Massage Therapy Department! 💆‍♀️

A proud graduate of Clary Sage College, Audrey is a licensed massage therapist with eight years of experience and a strong understanding of body mechanics, posture, and movement. Her knowledge and leadership are rooted in her earlier career as a dance studio owner and instructor in her hometown of Chelsea, Oklahoma. Having worked with clients throughout the greater Tulsa area, including Owasso, Downtown Tulsa, and her current practice in Broken Arrow, Audrey brings strong clinical expertise, high standards of care, and a passion for mentoring her team. She is excited to lead the department in providing exceptional student outcomes. Outside of work, Audrey enjoys gardening, reading, and spending quality time with her husband and their two children.

We’re excited to introduce Audrey and highlight the experience, knowledge, and passion she brings to our Massage Therapy team. Stay tuned as we continue introducing the Department Heads who help support our students and programs!

We were excited to welcome Nick Watson, owner of Ponyboy Barbershop, as a guest speaker for our Barber students.

Nick demonstrated a haircut and took the time to explain each step, but the experience went far beyond the haircut itself. Our students asked questions about everything from techniques and services to building a successful barber business and how Nick got started.

Nick was open, honest, and willing to share his experiences and advice with our students. He currently owns two Ponyboy Barbershop locations, one in Tulsa and his newest location in Bixby. Nick has also hired several of our graduates, and we are proud to hear how much they enjoy working at Ponyboy.

Opportunities like this allow our students to learn directly from working professionals and see what their future in the barber industry can look like. We are grateful to Nick for investing his time and experience in our students!

Another day, another field trip!

Our Esthetics students took their skincare studies to Barnes & Noble for a scavenger hunt, researching ingredients, skin concerns, SPF, exfoliation, and more as they prepared to dive into Chapter 6.

Plus, Ms. Twyla made it interesting: 8 out of 10 correct = Starbucks.

Safe to say, they did their research… and earned their drinks! ☕️

Our Esthetics students had a great time visiting Winks Esthetics and learning more about sugaring and hair removal!

Ali, owner of Sugar Society Studio, spent time with our students demonstrating proper techniques, sharing her knowledge, and answering questions about the industry. It was a fun, hands-on learning experience and a great opportunity for our students to learn from a working professional.
