☀️ BEST. SUMMER. EVER. ☀️

Here's a glimpse into life at Summer Day Camp at the Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA!

🚓🚒🚑 We celebrated our community heroes and helpers with visits from Tulsa Fire Department, EMSA OKLAHOMA, and Tulsa Police Department
🎪 Our amazing CITs stepped up this week to lead carnival games and activities for campers this week
🎶 Campers explored music, storytelling, and creativity during our Campfire Jams Specialty Camp with our friends from the Woody Guthrie Center (Shoutout to Hot Toast Music Co, Josh Raymer, and Amber Watson)
🌳 And through all of it and so much more, kids are making friends, building confidence, exploring the outdoors, and creating memories that will last a lifetime

🌿 Discover Native Roots at Specialty Camp! 🌿

While our traditional Summer Day Camp is currently full and operating from a waitlist, we still have spots available in our incredible Native Roots Specialty Camp next week!

In partnership with our friends at the The Muscogee Nation, campers will spend the week learning traditional skills, creating hands-on projects, and connecting with Native culture through experiences led by talented artists and educators.

✨ Camp Highlights Include:

🏺 Tuesday – Claymaking with Crystal Hanna (Cherokee)
📿 Wednesday – Bone Bead Necklace Making with Yafke Marks (Mvskoke)
🍃 Thursday – Nature Summer Collage with Okcate Smith McCommas (Mvskoke)
🌱 Friday – Making Cordage from Yucca with Jake Tiger (Seminole & Mvskoke)

Tonight we gathered with our T2 participants and families for our Pre-Trip Meeting, and the excitement is building for our journey to South Dakota, June 22–28!

As a group, we set a goal tonight: let’s bring 3 more teens along for the adventure!

Because of that, we’re extending the deadline to apply and submit your deposit until Wednesday, June 10.

If you know a teen ages 13–17 who is looking for an unforgettable summer experience filled with service, leadership, adventure, and lifelong memories, there’s still time to join us!
