1️⃣ White rice
• White rice itself is not “cancer-causing,” but it’s a refined carb with a high glycemic index.
• Eating lots of refined carbs (white rice, white bread, sugary foods) can raise blood sugar and insulin levels.
• High blood sugar and insulin can fuel inflammation and weight gain — both raise breast cancer risk or recurrence risk.
• Better: If you like rice, switch to brown rice, wild rice, or quinoa sometimes — they have more fiber and nutrients.
⸻
⚠️ 2️⃣ Smoking ci******es
• Smoking is one of the worst risk factors for almost all cancers, including breast cancer.
• It damages your DNA, makes treatment less effective, slows healing, and raises recurrence risk.
• Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your body — even cutting down helps.
⸻
⚠️ 3️⃣ Drinking alcohol
• Alcohol does raise breast cancer risk — even small amounts.
• It increases estrogen levels in your body, which can fuel hormone-sensitive breast cancers.
• Many oncologists recommend avoiding alcohol completely or having it only rarely.
• If you do drink, keep it very minimal (like a few drinks per month).
⸻
⚠️ 4️⃣ Red meat
• Red meat (beef, lamb, pork) in large amounts is linked to higher breast cancer risk — especially if it’s processed (like bacon or deli meat).
• It’s okay to have small amounts of lean, unprocessed red meat (like a small steak) once in a while.
• Limit to once or twice a week — and choose fish or poultry more often.
⸻
⚠️ 5️⃣ Meat not cooked enough
• Undercooked or raw meat can cause foodborne illnesses, which is risky if your immune system is weakened by treatment.
• Also, charred or burnt meat (from grilling) can create carcinogenic compounds (HCAs and PAHs).
• Best: Cook meat thoroughly, but avoid charring — bake, steam, stew, or grill gently.
⸻

• Choose fish, poultry, plant proteins more often.
• Exercise regularly.
• Stay at a healthy weight.
