FALL IN LOVE THIS SATURDAY!

The weather is cooling off, the leaves are changing and we’ve got some pretty incredible dogs hoping to find someone to fall in love with!

Join us this Sunday, October 18, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals office for our Adoption Event!

We’ve got dogs of all shapes, sizes, ages and personalities…and every single one of them has something in common. They’re waiting for someone to give them a chance.

Some have been waiting far too long. Some have never known what it feels like to have a family of their own. And some are just wondering why nobody has picked them yet.

Maybe that someone is YOU.

🐾❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO TULSA'S ANIMAL WELFARE CLUB FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TULSA❤️🐾

Nothing fills our hearts more than welcoming groups of volunteers who are eager to roll up their sleeves and make a difference! Whether it's walking dogs, organizing supplies, bagging food for our pet food pantry customers, or simply showing up for the fur babies who need us most, every helping hand makes a difference. 🐶

Today, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the University of Tulsa's Animal Welfare Club to Oklahoma Alliance for Animals! These wonderful students gave up part of their Sunday to help us tackle a long list of tasks, and they showed up ready to jump right in!

To each and every one of you, THANK YOU! Your time, energy, kindness, and willingness to help mean more to us than you know. We are so grateful to have you be part of our mission.

And we're pretty sure all those happy pups who enjoyed some extra-long walks today would give you a big, slobbery THANK YOU too! 🐕❤️🐾

It takes a village, and we're so thankful you're part of ours! ❤️

Georgia has been adopted twice…and returned twice. We’re hoping the third time will be her forever.

Georgia’s story began at just 6–8 weeks old, fighting pneumonia at Tulsa Animal Services. A wonderful foster family nursed her back to health, and eventually, she was adopted.

Nearly a year later, she was returned and OAA took over her care.

After several months with her original foster family, Georgia was adopted again. Just three months later, she was returned for escaping the yard where she was being kept outdoors.

She came back dirty and covered in fleas, but the moment she saw her foster parents, her whole world lit up. She remembered them. She knew she was safe.

And here’s the thing…Georgia is an AMAZING dog!

She’s house and kennel trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows several commands. She’s smart, loving, and has so much to offer.

Georgia deserves a family who understands that adoption is a lifelong commitment, even when things aren’t perfect.

Until then, she’s safe and loved with the foster family who has never given up on her.

Let’s make sure Georgia never has to wonder where she belongs again.

🐾 235 surgeries - so many lives changed!

Planned Pethood International and
Spay First teamed up for a spay and neuter clinic at Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, providing more than 100 surgeries each day!

2 plus days = 235 surgeries! ♥️

In a community where many families face financial hardship, access to spay and neuter services can make a lasting difference for pets and their people. ❤️

OAA was proud to lend a helping hand—and four wheels! Our trusty cargo van helped transport supplies needed to make this incredible effort possible. 🚐

Thank you to the teams and helping hands who brought this clinic to life.

Preventing unwanted litters and building a healthier future for animals together! 🐶🐱

🐾❤️ VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: ANNA PLATT ❤️🐾

Anna has been part of the OAA family since December of last year, and in that time, she has dedicated hundreds of hours to our organization and, most importantly, to the animals in our care.

Anna is one of those people who simply shows up, ready to work, ready to help, and ready to give her whole heart.

She talks, sings and plays with the dogs and cats, but her contributions go far beyond that. She prepares food bags for our Pet Food Pantry families, enters and organizes new client information, deep cleans, administers medications, helps wherever she is needed, and makes sure that every single animal receives the same love and attention.

To Anna, there is no favorite. No dog, kitten or cat is more deserving than another. She spreads her love equally, and that says so much about the kind of person she is. ❤️

One of the moments we will never forget happened during a terrible ice storm last winter. With the roads becoming too dangerous to travel, Anna brought an air mattress to OAA, made herself a little sleeping area and stayed for three days so the animals would continue receiving their medications, meals, potty breaks, care and love.

She didn't hesitate.

If she was going to be iced in somewhere, she wanted to be iced in with the animals who depended on us.

That kind of care and compassion cannot be taught. That comes straight from the heart. ❤️

Anna is now also one of our part-time kennel techs, but even after her paid kennel duties are finished, she continues to voluntarily donate countless hours of her own time to OAA. As a nonprofit organization, we aren't able to have full-time kennel staff, yet Anna continues to step up simply because she cares and wants to contribute.

She participates in vaccine clinics, spay/neuter clinics, adoption events and so much more all while continuing to volunteer wherever she is needed.

Anna is calm. She is gentle. She is dependable. She is compassionate. And she has one of those hearts that animals seem to recognize immediately.

We are incredibly lucky to have her as part of the OAA family.

Anna, thank you for your kindness, your commitment, the hundreds of hours you have given us, and most of all, for loving every dog and cat in our care as if they were your own.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we will never forget everything you have done for OAA and the animals who depend on us. 🐾❤️

As Tamera prepares for her last day with OAA on October 7th, we want to take a moment to recognize someone who has poured so much of herself into this organization and, most importantly, into the animals who have come through our doors. ❤️

Tamera, your love for animals has never stopped when you clocked out. You are the kind of person who will get up, leave your house and go help save a dog simply because you know there is an animal out there who needs you. That kind of heart can't be taught.

You have cared for and loved so many fur babies during your time with us, and you've shown that same kindness to the people who walk through our doors. Whether it's a new volunteer, one of our regulars, or a group coming in to lend a hand, you have always treated them with courtesy, patience, respect and kindness and made them feel welcome.

We hope you leave OAA knowing that you made a difference. You were appreciated. And the love you gave these animals was seen. There are countless wagging tails, wet noses and happy endings that have a little piece of Tamera in their story. 🐾❤️

Thank you for everything you have given to OAA, our volunteers and, especially, our animals. We wish you nothing but happiness in whatever comes next.

🐾 376 pets vaccinated for free—and a community coming together!

What a beautiful day at O’Brien Park for yesterday’s Tulsa Community Hub Event and Vaccine Clinic!

OAA provided free vaccinations for 376 cats and dogs, and pet families received free pet food, flea and tick medications, and other essentials to keep their furry friends healthy and happy. ♥️

The support extended beyond pets! Neighbors also received household and personal essentials, and Food On The Move
joined us to provide fresh produce.

With everyday costs stretching so many budgets, we hope these supplies brought a little relief to families in our community.
