Andy Update ❤️

We wanted to give everyone an update on Andy because today brought another concern for his veterinary team.

He hadn’t been eating so we stopped by with some hot dogs hoping we could tempt him. Apparently hot dogs were exactly what he had in mind because he gobbled them right up. When we came in to see him he was also standing up and walking around outside which was really good to see after everything his body has been through.

Unfortunately, his veterinary team is now worried about Andy’s bladder. It is extremely distended and he is not urinating normally. When he does urinate he isn’t completely emptying his bladder.

There are a couple of possibilities they’re working through right now. There could be a blockage preventing him from emptying his bladder or his bladder muscle may not be contracting the way it should… something called detrusor atony. This can happen when a bladder becomes overly stretched and loses its ability to contract normally.

Andy had to have a catheter placed today so his veterinary team can keep his bladder drained while they continue trying to determine exactly what is happening and how best to treat him.

So while we’re incredibly happy to see him up, walking around and enthusiastically eating hot dogs… Andy still has a long way to go.

Just a couple of days ago this boy was outside suffering in the heat, severely anemic from a massive flea and tick infestation and needing a blood transfusion to survive. Now we’re facing another medical hurdle.

We’ll continue to do whatever Andy needs while his veterinary team works through this latest concern.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared his story and rooted for him. His veterinary care continues to add up so if you’d like to contribute toward Andy’s treatment we would be incredibly grateful.

Keep fighting, Andy. ❤️

🐾 FOSTER NEEDED: DAISIE 🐾

Daisie came to us as a stray and has been nothing but happy since the moment we met her.

This girl doesn’t have a shy bone in her body. She’s social, spunky and always ready to make a new friend. Daisie loves playing with toys, loves other dogs and would much rather be hanging out in a home than spending her days in boarding.

Daisie is currently waiting for her forever family but until they find her, she desperately needs a foster home where she can relax, play and just be a dog.

Fostering saves lives and for Daisie, it means getting her out of boarding and into the home environment she deserves.

Daisie is dog friendly, house and crate trained and walks well on leash.

Can you give this happy girl a place to land while she waits for forever? ❤️

Andy’s rescue became a life-saving one today…and now we need your help with his care.

Andy’s owner recently passed away. When medical professionals came to take his owner from the home, Andy was put outside with the understanding that family would be coming to get him.

Unfortunately, that never happened.

Andy remained outside alone, suffering in this heat and without the care he desperately needed. By the time he was found, he was covered in fleas and ticks and his body was struggling. There’s no doubt he would not have made it much longer out there.

The finder’s girlfriend dropped Andy off at the vet today and the news wasn’t good. Andy’s hematocrit is just 10 when it should be around 40. The heavy flea and tick infestation has caused severe anemia and he is currently receiving a blood transfusion to help save his life.

His temperature was also 103 when he arrived, so he’s receiving fluids and supportive care while the veterinary team works to stabilize him.

This truly was a life-saving rescue.

Andy had already lost his person. Then he was left outside waiting for family who never came while his body became weaker and weaker. Today, at least, he is no longer waiting.

Andy is safe and surrounded by people fighting for him…but lifesaving care like this comes with a significant cost. Between the blood transfusion, hospitalization, diagnostics, medications and continued treatment, we could really use your help.

If you’re able to donate toward Andy’s care, every single dollar helps us continue saying yes when an animal like Andy has nowhere else to turn.

Please donate if you can and share Andy’s story. He deserves the chance to recover from everything he’s been through.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate the loyal companions, goofy best friends, couch hogs, working dogs, shelter dogs, rescue dogs—and every pup who makes our lives a little brighter. ❤️🐶

National Dog Day is also a reminder of the dogs still waiting for their second chance—whether they need a loving home, a helping hand, or simply someone to speak up for them.

Today, give your dog an extra hug, an extra treat, or maybe a little longer walk. And if you have room in your heart and home, consider adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating to help a dog in need.

Because every dog deserves to know what it feels like to be safe, loved and HOME. 🏡❤️

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

JUSTICE FOR THE DOGS. 🐾⚖️

Today, members of Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, along with fellow animal-welfare advocates and concerned community members, stood together in federal court for the sentencing of Julius Griffin.

We are extremely pleased to share that Griffin was sentenced to 17½ YEARS in federal prison — the maximum sentence sought by the Department of Justice.

Today’s sentence sends a powerful message:

Animal cruelty will NOT be tolerated — not here, not anywhere, not at any time.

Dog fighting is not a sport. It is calculated, deliberate cruelty inflicted upon innocent animals for entertainment and profit. Those who participate in it must be held accountable.

We are incredibly grateful to the Department of Justice, federal investigators, prosecutors, law enforcement, and everyone involved in bringing this case to justice. We also thank every person who showed up today, wrote letters, spoke out, and stood beside us in saying:

NO EXCUSE FOR ANIMAL ABUSE.

Today, the voices of animals who could not speak for themselves were heard loud and clear.

17½ years. Accountability matters. Justice matters. Their lives matter. 🐾

Happy Friday!

🐾 MEET THE ROUTE 66 GIRL AND GIVE HER A NAME🐾

She was spotted living underneath a house along the Mother Road, and it appears this sweet girl may have been abandoned and surviving on her own for a little while. 💔

People started calling her the “Route 66 Dog,” because that’s exactly where she has been hanging on—right along historic Route 66.

Last night, her story changed. ❤️ She was RESCUED after almost getting hit by a car.

Now we’re going to do everything we can to find out where she came from, see if someone has been searching for her, and, if we can’t find her family, help her find the loving forever home she deserves.

And with Route 66 celebrating its 100th anniversary, we think this girl deserves a name that’s just as special as her story! 🛣️🐶

So we need YOUR help!

What should we name the Route 66 girl?
🌵 A name inspired by the Mother Road?
🛣️ A famous Route 66 destination?
❤️ Something that represents her second chance?

Let’s give this sweet girl a name that tells the story of her journey from the side of Route 66 to a brand-new beginning. 🐾❤️

08/19/2026

This morning, while the rest of the city slept, an incredible group of volunteers came together to send 109 cats and dogs on their way to lives Oklahoma simply could not offer them.

These are animals who have sat stagnant in shelters and rescues, waiting for the right person to see them. Today, that finally happened. Rescue partners in the Northwest hand-selected each one of these precious animals and thanks to Greater Good Charities, they’re now making their journey toward new opportunities and forever homes.

But something this big doesn’t happen because of one organization.

We could not have done it without the shelters and rescues here in Oklahoma who said yes, worked together and trusted us to help get their animals where they needed to go. A huge thank you to Tulsa SPCA, Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, SPACAR Animal Advocates of OK, Fairfax Animal Control, Hominy Animal Control, Cimarron Valley Humane Society, Route 66 Pet Rescue, Mannford Shelter Friends Foundation and Jenks Animal Welfare.

The partnership between Greater Good Charities and Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is powerful because we share the same goal…making life better for animals and the people who care for them.

Greater Good Charities brings incredible resources and reach while OAA brings our connection to Oklahoma communities and an understanding of what is happening on the ground every single day. When you put those things together, we can reach more animals, respond to greater needs and create opportunities that none of us could accomplish alone.

109 lives changed before most people even had their first cup of coffee this morning.

This is what collaboration looks like.

Happy tails, sweet ones. Your next chapter starts today. ❤️🐾
