In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county, inspired by her dad, who couldn’t read or write, and her
belief in the power of books.

That idea lives on right here in Coffee County Today, approximately 3,000 local children receive an Imagination Library book in the mail
each month.

We’re proud to work alongside Governor's Early Literacy Foundation and partners across Tennessee to help put books
into the hands and homes of children.

This weekend, Regal is bringing two Dolly movie favorites back to theaters, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Proceeds from Tennessee screenings will go back to local Imagination Library program partners in participating communities.

Hi, everyone. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Dolly Parton, a true musical icon, champion of literacy and, most importantly, a good human being who brought joy to people.

We’ve seen questions about how to support the Imagination Library locally, so we wanted to share a way you can do that.

Dolly Parton always said that if you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain. Today, the world feels a little grayer, but the light Dolly brought into millions of homes remains unbroken.

Through the Imagination Library, Dolly built a bridge of books and possibility, reaching across circumstance and geography to give children the freedom to dream. She showed us that a book can be more than words on a page… it can plant a seed of hope and self-belief that lasts a lifetime.

As we grieve this tremendous loss alongside our Coffee County neighbors, the Imagination Library of Coffee County is committed to carrying forward Dolly’s legacy of love, generosity and possibility. Every book delivered to a child’s mailbox will continue to carry her spirit and her belief that every child deserves the chance to dream.

Save the date for our Pancake Breakfast.

Join us from 8-10 a.m. on Sept. 12 at The Mercantile/Sweet Simplicity in Manchester. Renee and the staff at the Mercantile always do an amazing job hosting this fun event.

Tickets are $12 and available from any board member or at the door on the day of the event. Children under 5 eat free.

When you give, the Governor's Early Literacy Foundation matches the funds, helping us provide books every month to nearly 3,000 local children from birth through age 5.
