Coffee County Manchester Public Library Celebrates 20th Anniversary Author Signing During "Whispers in Winter" Reading Program
MANCHESTER, Tenn. — The Coffee County Manchester Public Library is proud to announce the 20th anniversary of its signature Author Signing event, the cornerstone of this year’s "Whispers in Winter" Adult Reading Program. The program, which kicks off Dec. 29, 2025, and runs through Feb. 7, 2026, offers five and a half weeks of literary challenges, community prizes, and a milestone celebration of local and regional writers.

The "Whispers in Winter" initiative is designed to keep adults ages 18 and older engaged with literature during the colder months. To participate, patrons with a valid Coffee County library card can check out books, audiobooks, or nonfiction DVDs from the Manchester Public Library or via the READS app. After keeping an item overnight, readers can fill out a prize slip at the front desk to enter for the specific rewards they hope to win.

The program features a variety of incentives:

Weekly Rewards: Sponsored by Al White Ford, winners will be drawn every Friday morning.

Bingo Board Prizes: Patrons who complete a "Bingo" on their reading card can instantly claim a free book or book bag (limit two per person).

Bonus Entries: Dedicated readers who check out 25 items at once receive an extra prize slip.

The program concludes with a landmark 20th Anniversary Author Signing on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year’s grand finale features an expansive roster of over 20 authors—including Dr. Lona Bailey, Dr. James R. Boynton PhD, Janice Lynn, Dave Pratt, and Dr. Elizabeth Taylor—meeting with fans and signing books.

Everyone who attends the Feb. 7 finale will receive a bonus prize entry. Additionally, guests can participate in an "Author Passport" activity; those who visit the attending authors to complete their passport will be entered into a special Door Prize Raffle. To celebrate the occasion, a complimentary coffee bar will be provided courtesy of the Manchester Rotary Club and local sponsors (to be enjoyed in the designated Magazine or Genealogy areas).

Grand prize winners for the "Whispers in Winter" program will be drawn on Monday, Feb. 9. All prizes must be claimed by March 1, 2026. For more information, please visit the Manchester Public Library at 1005 Hillsboro Blvd. or call 931-723-5143 x7.
