For our June adventure, we headed to the McKenzie River for some whitewater rafting and camping in the nearby Willamette National Forest.

Our beginner crew quickly took to paddling in sync as we made our way through the first rapids. Soon, a wave train tested our ability to keep paddling even as waves crashed over the bow, leaving us soaked. The Scouts dug in and navigated all the Class II and III rapids along the way to Finn Rock.

Our guides from Helfrich McKenzie Rafting were amazing! Skilled navigators who knew the story behind every bend in the river.

After working up a huge appetite, we stopped into Ike's Pizza, a local institution. It was a perfectly delicious way to end the day.

We're already looking forward to our next adventure, and we hope you'll come along for the ride!

We hit the trail this weekend, biking the Row River Trail on the Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway! Our 20-mile ride included stunning views of Dorena Lake and the Row River.

Fun fact: Oregon's first-in-the-nation Scenic Bikeways program has 18 routes with over 1300 miles of incredible rides across our state.

A weekend of camping builds leadership, confidence, and real, memorable friendships. We hope you'll join us on our next adventure!

Looking for a fun, free way to spend Saturday afternoon? Come play Disc Golf with us at Memorial Park in Wilsonville!

The course is beginner friendly - no experience necessary. We’ll have extra discs to share, or bring your own. Drop a comment if you’re thinking of coming. We hope to see you out there!

Who: All ages welcome - youth 10 and up will be closest to our Scouts’ ages

This weekend, Troop 530 attended the River's Edge District Camporee, coming home with a well-deserved Honor Troop award!

It was a big weekend for the Troop. Two of our Scouts ran the show, serving as Camp Host and MC for the entire weekend program of over 400 Scouts. Another conducted the callout ceremony for the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's national honor society.

We were excited to welcome our two newest Scouts on their first overnight with the Troop. They learned to set up tarp tents, practiced safe knife skills, and shared duties on cooking and cleanup.

Our Scouts also played hard, building wooden mallets, throwing tomahawks at the range, and competing at the other event stations around camp.

Add in an hour of service clearing brush to keep Barton Park beautiful and usable for all, and it was a wonderful weekend of Scouting!

10:00-11:30am Pioneering Demonstration: Monkey Bridge
1:00pm Easter Egg Hunt for ages 2-8

Troop 530 kicked off the camping season with a trip to the Siuslaw National Forest!

Our Scouts built their signature tarp tents, worked on their Pioneering skills, and got in touch with nature. The highlight was a serious teamwork challenge, building a sturdy monkey bridge!

A weekend of hands-on learning, beautiful weather, and nighttime views that can't be beat! ✨

Last weekend our Scouts participated in the national Scouting for Food program and collected 224 pounds of food for the Tualatin Food Pantry!

In Scouting, we understand service can be a fun group activity. The Scouts had a blast distributing door hangers and collecting the community’s generous donations. We’re looking forward to next year and hope you’ll join us! Troop530.org

Proud to serve the Tualatin community!

Scouting America Troop 530’s “Scouting for Food” was a success! The Troop collected 224 pounds of food to support TFP! Thank you to the troop members and leaders for their service! 🥫🍽️🥫

Scouting for Food is this Saturday, March 7th! Troop 530 will be picking up donations within the boundaries of Boones Ferry, Blake, Martinazzi and Avery. Please have donations outside and clearly marked "Scouting for Food" by 9am!

If you live outside that boundary, we will be accepting drop-off donations at Tualatin Presbyterian Church between 9 and 10 am.
