CERT Spring Training starts March 3rd!
Our free Spring 2026 CERT training class begins March 3rd.
Classes meet Tuesday evenings for seven weeks, followed by a half-day practical training on Saturday, April 18th. Space is limited.

CERT is a nationally recognized FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) program. Participants are guided by trained instructors through a 25-hour course that focuses on what to do when emergency services may be delayed or unavailable. Ongoing practice and community service opportunities help CERT members stay sharp and ready to support their neighborhoods when it matters most.

Today is the day! Come by and see us at the Tualatin CERT Emergency Preparedness Fair today at the Tualatin library! Will be there from 11 to 2 handing out all kinds of great information and free prizes! Come see all the 1st responders, their vehicles and trucks and K9 Onyx!! 🐕‍🦺

Come out and see Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue at the Tualatin Emergency Preparedness Fair this weekend at the Tualatin Public Library. Come out and meet these real-life heroes!!! 🚨🚒🚨🚒🚨

Let's have a safe start to this school year by ensuring students get to class and back home safely. We all have steps to take to make that happen.

Motorists:
• Allow extra time to reach your destination and watch for cars, pedestrians, bicyclists, skateboarders, crossing guards, and school buses.
• Put the brakes on distracted driving. Don’t text, talk on the phone, eat, groom, reach for things, or do anything else that distracts you from driving. Keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, and mind on driving.

Bus Riders:
• Have a safe place to wait for your bus, away from traffic and off the street.
• Stay away from the bus until the driver gives a signal that it’s OK to approach.
• While riding the bus, remain seated. Aisles in the bus should remain clear.

Students on Bikes, Scooters, and Skateboards:
• Always wear a bicycle helmet, no matter how short or long the ride. Oregon law requires that a helmet be worn by anyone 16 years of age or younger.
• Ride on the right (or on a sidewalk), in the same direction as traffic.
• Wear bright-colored clothing to increase visibility as days get shorter.
• Always walk your wheeled ride through intersections.

Students Walking:
• Never cross the street against a light, even if you don’t see any traffic coming. Learn what traffic signals and signs mean.
• Walk with a parent or buddy whenever possible.
• Wear reflective material as it makes you more visible to motorists.
• Stay off the road and on the sidewalk whenever possible.

Food preparedness is a big part of being ready for any disasters that come our way! Come to the Tualatin Emergency Fair on 9/13 and bring a donation for the Tualatin Food Pantry! They will have a booth and a donation bucket in the lobby of the Tualatin Public Library.
Every non-perishable donation is appreciated for this critical part of our community!
