We recently had the honor of hosting some of our closest friends and family to an evening celebrating the opening of our new building. More than a celebration, it was our small way of saying thank you for all the love, support, and encouragement we receive from so many. This night was more than we could have ever expected. Our village is strong!

2024 was a wild one, so many ups and downs. One major up was we closed on an office space for Bev’s Kids, which was so exciting and surreal!

With all the love we received during this journey, there are so many to thank. I have to start by thanking my incredible wife Randi, who was our realtor/project manager/hero, beautifully handling her first commercial transaction like a seasoned veteran. This wasn’t a cake walk so seeing her balance our personal interests as well as making a dream come true was truly amazing! I can’t thank you enough! ❤️

To our remarkable team, Natalie, Michaela, Judith, River, Alyssa, David, and Lesly, your dedication to our mission and youth is so inspiring. It motivates me to do and be better. This couldn’t have happened without each and one of you. Y’all, we have a headquarters! lol

To JR from Harvest Small Business Finance, I’ve said it before but you were a godsend! So happy you were in our corner. To Andrew at SALT Architecture, thank you , thank you, thank you! Thank you Sydni and Cyndi at Inspired Spaces, you brought the vision to reality.

And last but most definitely not least, I want to thank all our youth who have allowed us to play a significant role in their lives! The trust of a youth is priceless and should never be taken for granted. We are blessed to have that, understanding our youth are investing in us as well as we in them. So if they didn’t rock with us, we wouldn’t be here! Thank you!

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

On Saturday, October 5th, our team at Bev's Kids will be participating in Portland's walk to fight su***de, put on by the American Foundation of Su***de Prevention.

Marcus is the heart and soul of Bev's Kids. He deserves every bit of appreciation and recognition he receives for what he does in the communities we serve. Our team is so grateful to have him as a guiding light!

Judith's passion for serving her local Southern Oregon community shines through her desire to make a positive impact. With her background as a youth peer support specialist and residential treatment counselor, she brings valuable experience to the table. Judith is committed to ensuring that every young person she works with receives the quality mentorship they deserve.

River joined our team bringing a deep love and appreciation of the outdoors. We're so glad to have her as a resource for youth who want to get outside and explore!

Last week, we introduced you to Beverly Thompson, the woman at the root of our inspiration. This week, we're excited to begin our bio series to highlight the incredible team we have built here at Bev's Kids!

We're kicking it all off with Michaela Pino, the mentor that turned our program from a one-man show into a team! It also happens to be her birthday this week, so even more reason to celebrate her and the unconditional positive regard she brings to our youth!

Given that May is National Foster Care Awareness month, we'd like to take some time to reintroduce ourselves, what we do and most importantly, why we do it!

We will spend the next few weeks giving insight to our inspiration and introducing our team to highlight all the ways they individually help shape our service and support youth.

It’s only appropriate to kick it off with the woman at the root of it all: Beverly Thompson.
