For 27 years, Tulare HACER has proudly partnered with the City of Tulare to celebrate Cinco de Mayo while investing directly in our community.

This year’s celebration brought together more than 40 local vendors, over 20 generous sponsors, and an estimated 500+ community members throughout the day. Most importantly, we awarded $10,000 in scholarships to 23 local high school seniors, helping support the next generation of leaders, professionals, and changemakers.

Tulare HACER is about creating opportunities, supporting local businesses, strengthening community connections, and building a brighter future for Tulare. A warm thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and participated.

So glad to be able to share such beautiful pictures of those who came together and make such a great event come true 🫶 can't wait to see you all (and more) next year!!

Welcome to our Annual Fiesta de Mayo Celebration! On behalf of HACER we welcome everyone as we celebrate the accomplishments of our scholarship recipients.
The Hispanic Alliance for Culture, Education and Recognition (HACER) is a community service organization founded on Oct. 5, 1993 in Tulare, CA. Our purpose is to recognize, promote, and enhance leadership development of the Hispanic community and our youth in Tulare. We are dedicated to promoting higher education for our local graduating seniors. HACER has awarded $236,300 in scholarships to 376 very deserving local high school students. This year HACER is awarding 23 Tulare high school seniors with a total of $10,000 in scholarships. Thank you to lose Sigala, Tulare City Councilman and our HACER Members for their contributions in making it possible to provide these scholarships.
Today HACER is honoring 17 of those 23 seniors from the Tulare Joint Union High School District who were able to be present today. All the scholarship recipients demonstrate great promise for the future. These students have earned GPAs ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 while being involved in numerous school activities and contributing many hours by volunteering in community organizations. They have also received several honors in academics, music, athletics, theater, leadership, and outstanding character. Along with their parents, we are very proud of each student’s accomplishments, dedication to their education, and their outstanding character. We wish them continued success as they embark into their new college communities, future careers, and future leaders in their communities.
We will now introduce each student and present them with their scholarship, a certificate and a medal that can be worn at their graduation ceremony.

Congratulations to our 23 HACER scholarship winners that will be continuing with their post-secondary education this fall of 2026!

Ramona Arroyo has been our treasurer for many years and we wanted to recognize her as an honoree member of HACER, tonight. Thank you Ramona for all that you’ve done for us and our community. We trust her so much with our finances; she’s alway been very responsible, keeping count of everything in our accounts and expenses as well as making sure that we’re following all of the regulations for our organization.

We couldn’t do any of this without Ramona. She never complains, she’s always there; she’s there to make sure everything is correct for us. Not only does she help us, but she then goes every Monday to St. Rita’s and is responsible for making sure all of the funds are counted correctly for them as well.

In appreciation, HACER is recognizing Ramona for outstanding years of service for the organization of HACER and community of Tulare.

Thank you Ramona, from all of us at HACER!!
