HERE AM I, LORD: A LIFE COMMITTED TO SERVICE

FOUNDer's THOUGHTS | A PERSONAL REFLECTION

Many years ago, at a Kairos meeting, I heard the words of Isaiah 6:8 sung:

“Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”

I answered, “I will go, Lord.”

I knew what I was committing to: a life of service to God and His sheep. Not just those who believe, but all people.

That commitment has guided my life ever since.

Last year, a missed freeway exit brought me face-to-face with a bleeding man who needed emergency help.

Yesterday, another wrong turn led me to a lost wallet and a 44-mile journey to return it to its owner.

Were these simply coincidences? Perhaps. But I believe God sometimes uses unexpected detours to place willing people where they're needed.

Still, I don't believe service means sitting idle, waiting for divine instructions or chance encounters.

I believe in putting myself in the line of duty, where those in need can be found, and where I can be found by them.

That's the heart of my calling and the spirit behind Compass Reentry Peer Support.

I've written a personal reflection about these experiences, the promise I made years ago, and why I believe God uses willing people to answer the prayers of those in need.

🏢 EMPLOYERS: ARE YOU OVERLOOKING YOUR NEXT GREAT EMPLOYEE?

SECOND-CHANCE HIRING IS GOOD BUSINESS!

Finding dependable, motivated employees can be challenging. But what if some of the qualified candidates your business needs are being overlooked because of their past?

Many justice-impacted individuals bring valuable work experience, vocational training, practical skills, and a strong desire to succeed.

At Compass Reentry Peer Support, we believe employers should have the opportunity to discover that potential.

✅ Access an often-overlooked workforce.

✅ Find applicants with valuable experience and skills.

✅ Explore programs that may reduce certain hiring risks.

✅ Connect with a reentry organization that provides practical support and encouragement.

✅ Help strengthen families and communities through meaningful employment.

🤝 HERE'S WHAT MAKES OUR APPROACH DIFFERENT:

We don't simply encourage people to apply for jobs. We help them address barriers that can interfere with employment, including transportation, identification, and access to community resources.

We're looking for employers in King, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties who are willing to explore second-chance hiring partnerships.

You don't have to lower your hiring standards to give someone a fair opportunity.

🙏 FAITH, FELLOWSHIP & THE POWER OF PATIENCE

Last night, 14 people gathered for praise, biblical teaching, discussion, fellowship, and prayer.

Seven justice-impacted individuals joined seven volunteers and supporters. Several of our regular participants were missed.

📖 GOD'S PROMISES AND OUR PATIENCE

Hebrews 6:9–20 (Focus: Verses 13–18)

"Patience was the bridge between God's promise and obtaining it."

God promised Abraham, confirmed His promise with an oath, and fulfilled His word. But between the promise and its fulfillment, Abraham had to wait with patience and faith.

That message speaks directly to the journey of reentry.

Finding employment, securing housing, rebuilding relationships, and restoring trust take time. Progress isn't always immediate, and setbacks can test our patience.

But waiting doesn't mean standing still. We keep moving forward, making responsible choices, and trusting God through the process.

❤️ MORE THAN A CHURCH GATHERING

Our evening reminded us that fellowship is about building relationships, encouraging one another, and knowing we don't have to face life's challenges alone.

🙏 YOU'RE INVITED!

Are you justice-impacted, a family member, a community supporter, or someone interested in volunteering?

We invite you to join us for an upcoming evening of faith, encouragement, discussion, and fellowship.

Whether you're rebuilding your life or want to walk alongside someone who is, there's a place for you at the table.

FOUNDER AUTHORITY • PART 41

HOPE IS A STRATEGY — AND PARTNERSHIP MAKES IT PRACTICAL

Hope means more than telling someone to stay positive. When a person faces missed opportunities, confusing systems, and setbacks during reentry, real hope needs structure: practical next steps, steady encouragement, and people who follow through.

In our latest Founder Authority article, we explore how community partners can turn hope into action and reinforce each other’s work.

HOPE IS A STRATEGY Hope is sometimes treated as a feeling people either have or don’t have. In reentry work, I have come to see it differently. Hope can be something we build through consistent action, dependable relationships, and a realistic path forward. It matters most on the days when someone...
