Tucson Community Tennis Program

Tucson Community Tennis Program We have 3 distinct programs: In-School, Saturday, and Summer Camp.

TCTP provides neighborhood opportunities for Tucson’s under-served children to learn and play the game of tennis through their youth and into adulthood – thus exposing them to the fun and benefits of leading an active lifestyle. Established in 1993, the Tucson Community Tennis Program is a non-profit organization bringing free tennis to elementary, middle school, and high school children. TCTP's f

ocus is on multi-cultural schools in Tucson's inner city, where funding is too limited to provide physical education instructors. Our programs create an environment where young people are introduced to the lifelong sport of tennis and are given opportunities to learn, within their neighborhoods, the basic motor skills and inherent "life" values of the game. This past school year (2015-2016) more than 900 children (ages 5 - 18) participated in our 3 programs and our volunteers donated over 1044 hours helping kids learn the "life" game of tennis.

A weekend filled with so much celebration and gratitude!

Thank you to USTA Southwest for honoring us with this incredible award. It truly means the world to our entire team. For years, we’ve poured our hearts into growing the game of tennis for kids across Tucson—reaching more than 32,000 students, supported by an amazing network of 150 UPSTA coaches and 420 assistant coaches, and spending over 340 hours on the court sharing the sport we love. Every hour, every lesson, and every student reminds us why we do what we do.

At TCTP, our mission has always been about more than just tennis. We’re dedicated to uplifting our community—teaching young people valuable life skills, helping them learn time management, offering tutoring to support their academic success, and expanding our reach to more than 15 sites throughout the area. We believe that when you invest in kids, you invest in the future of the entire community.

But the very best part? Seeing our students grow, graduate, and then return to us—excited to coach, mentor, and give back in the same way they were supported. Watching them step into leadership roles reminds us that our programs are creating a legacy far beyond the court.

Being named Member Organization of the Year is such an incredible honor, and it feels so well deserved by everyone who has put their heart into this program. Here’s to many more years of community, connection, and inspiring the next generation of players! 🎾💙
